ZapRowsdower8 Posted August 5, 2007 Share Posted August 5, 2007 I guess most people cheered for three reasons.1) Everybody is tired of hearing about Bonds and steroids and just want it to be over. 2) Most people realize that its probably only a matter of time until ARod breaks the record, so let Bonds have his moment.3) The last how ever many years have been the Steroid Era in baseball. Lots of players used them, pitchers included *coughRogerClemenscough*, and for his era Bonds was the best player.I don't like the guy, but even if steroids were never in baseball he would still be one of the best players ever. And a fairly vigorous contingent of people holding 8.5x11 sheets of paper with giant printed asterisks. The booing seemed stronger when Bonds trotted out to left after the inning.
