hecticbro
I like the look of that logo, and the colors are nice. The cross kind of puts me off a little bit, but I believe that's a rendition of an actual statue in the city of the man St. Louis, MO was named after. So I guess it's exceptable, since they couldn't really edit it out.... Now if this were for a hockey team, you'd just take the cross away and put a hockey stick in his hand. GFB
the only thing I would complain about would be that the shadow lines on the statue should be crisper. it looks like it was live traced. 4.5 out of 5.

I believe thats an upside-down sword. And I also believe that the statue is a famous statue of some sort. Reminds me of the statue in the K.C. Scouts logo. Moser316
Speaking of Minneapolis, what kinds of names to Scandinavian football clubs have that a Minnesota team could steal be inspired by?Bayern Minneapolis?AJAX St. Paul?Bayern Minneapolis: LOL!And Ajax is a good beginning. There already is an Ajax America club in Orlando. Since the Amsterdam club's name comes from the Greek hero, early Dutch clubs having sort of a thing for Greek names, maybe Minnesota should turn to local mythology for a name. Bunyan F.C.? Blue Ox Minnesota? Tatanka M.S.C.? (I actually kind of like these!)Getting back to Scandinavia, there's a Norwegian club named "Start". Start Soccer Club of Minnesota? In all seriousness, Bayern Milwaukee could work, given the city's rich German heritage.Back on topic, I echo the general sentiment of loving St. Louis's logo, but not the nickname. I don't know. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
STL FANATIC
I hope this happens, but I think the latest developments from the MLS side of things were negative. As for the name, I don't think the proposed team name is St. Louis Soccer United at all....That's simply the name of the group driving to get an MLS team here. For that same reason, that might not be the logo that would be used either. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
AJM
Dig the crest and color scheme (especially the two greens on the shield)...not liking the name so much. Ditch Soccer and leave it St. Louis United. JQK
For a soccer badge? It's excellent.Well designed, and the execution was flawless in my opinion. thebigeh
I don't know the name of that statue, but the old St. Louis Browns used it on one of their first logos.I actually went into that site this morning. The logo looks great, but I'm not too keen with the color scheme. Royal blue and gold might be better. Maybe the green and silver could be used for a proposed alternate jersey. As for a name, why not the Saint Louis Saints? Everything about that proposal looks impressive. With all the history and support, past and present, of soccer in that region, the question shouldn't be "Can St. Louis get an MLS franchise"? But rather "WHY hasn't St. Louis recieved an MLS franchise by now?" Of couse, me being Canadian, I would like it if MLS put a team in Vancouver and/or Montreal. STL_Ian
That is in fact a depiction of the statue of King Louis IX that has stood in front of our art museum in Forest Park for 101 years. Also, that is indeed an inverted sword which is purposely symbolizing a cross.I simply can't wait for soccer to become a reality here. I only hope MLS feels the same way. rams80
Joan of Arc? Is that you?OK name, but personally, I think that if you're going "Euro style", rip off a French League name...Like Olympique. (It's actually sort of relevant too...)-------------------------------Thanks for the clarification GoldenBrett. As for why St. Louis doesn't have a team yet, I guess they figured Missouri could only support one team, and when Lamar Hunt says the team goes in Kansas City, the team goes in Kansas City. Viper
Don't like the name, St Louis United is much betterThe only problem with that name is that it would probably be abbreviated something like SLU or SLUTD; no doubt you'd soon start seeing opposing fans nicknaming them "The Sluts".Speaking of Minneapolis, what kinds of names to Scandinavian football clubs have that a Minnesota team could steal be inspired by?Not Scandi-inspired, but I've always thought Polaris FC would be a sweet name for an MLS club in Minnesota. Their nickname could even be "The North Stars".Other cool mythical soccer names (that'll never happen, at least not in MLS) that come to mind: Kentucky FC ("The Colonels") and FC Hawai'i ("The Hula Hoops"). xxjdm66
Love the crest, hope MLS Has something similar to that. St. Louis Soccer United is the organization name, so I'm pretty sure it will be something else. Redskin IS a racist term, no matter how Daniel Snyder tries to spin it.
