Players in the "wrong" uniforms

It's not quite the same thing, but it could at least be argued that Roy Halladay's right uniform is a Phillies one, despite having a decade-long terriffic career in Toronto.  He only played two meaningful seasons in Philadelphia, but that's where he had his perfect game and playoff no-hitter, a cy-young, increased national (US at least) exposure in general, and definitely more exposure in the playoffs.  In fact if you google him, the images that show up are Phillies rather than Blue Jays.

I'm just saying that I feel that way, just pointing out that there are circumstances where 12 years with a team doesn't make it a slam dunk that that's their "right" uniform.

That's a bit of a stretch, he dominated for a decade as a Jay, he just didn't have the team behind him to give him the exposure and accolades that he received with the Phillies.

It's still very odd to see him in anything other than a Black Jays uniform.

Possibly unpopular opinion:

This uniform is better than what they currently wear.

I don't think that is an unpopular opinion, but I have wondered if that Chargers uniform would have looked just a little better if the bolts were all predominantly yellow.

and I'll mike this post a 2 for 1...this might be an unpopular opinion, but in my mind this is his forever rightful uniform

As always, this thread has devolved into recent acquisitions. For all we know, Chicago could become D.Wade's "right" uniform.

No chance. If he wins three rings with the Bulls and overshadows his time in Miami I will be very surprised. More likely this is Willie Mays on the Mets.

And recent doesn't mean wrong. Just a new example. Some night eventually be right, but not all.

Agreed, on most counts. Some of these younger guys may make a bigger mark in their new homes than they did in their old, but Wade is not one of them. He's injury-prone and just generally feels like he's slowing down. I don't think he'll be quite like Willie Mays on the Mets, though - he'll be better than that, but he's still on the downside of his career.

:lol: D-Wade's gonna lead the Bulls to 3+ titles when he couldn't LEAD the Heat to one.

1. that's not happening

2. RIGHT NOW it's his wrong uniform because he spent over a decade with another team so a recent acquisition belongs in this thread. It's not a devolution at all.

Beats the three or four pages of Rex Ryan in hockey jerseys from a few years ago...I'd say D-Wade the Bull is a bounce-back.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
