2008 MLB Season

Barry Zito FINALLY won a game.

And on top of that he looked better tonight than he has in a LONG time. Hopefully this is a sign of a resurgence for Zito. Big win for San Fran, and the A's are up 7-2 on the Red Sox. Pretty pleasant night for Bay Area baseball, if I do say so myself ^_^

First Manager Fired Willie Randolph

If there is a god it will be with in 72 hours

The Mets are just quitting and folding and I cant stand to see him say turn the page much longer, and taking shots at fans and calling us racists for booing him. Its getting real ugly and even Keith Hernandez is taking veiled shots at him.

I think that in the prediction thread, I said the Mariners would be any good. Boy was I wrong about that. I had a lot of fun going to M's games last summer, but I definitely stopped going as they started losing. I don't want to be a fair-weather fan, but that's exactly what I am. Baseball games are more fun when the team is winning. Who would have thunk it?

Yeah what happened to those big hopes for the M's? And so much for Bedard being such a shut-down force. He just got shelled again tonight.

Speaking of the streaking A's, they just swept the Boston Red Sox :)

For as much trash as I talked about this team when they traded Swisher and Haren, I am absolutely loving this team. And while I would still like to see a spark plug like Swisher, it's fine that he's not there because the current roster just seems to have such great chemistry. They're gonna be an amazing team for a long time to come with this young roster, but I don't think anyone expected them to come around so darn fast. Now only if the Angels would drop a few.

Padres and Reds went 18 innings, and Adrian Gonzalez hit a walk off homer against Edinson Volquez himself.

Last night aside, who thinks that the Josh Hamilton - Volquez trade was one of the most fair trades in history? (The Reds also got another pitching prospect)

At the moment it looks pretty even. Let's see how their season and careers progress. We'll be able to tell in a few years how even the trade really was.

Yeah I saw just how good Hamilton was doing (Which I saw coming from a mile away) and thought that Reds fans must be steaming, but then I also saw just how good Volquez was doing and thought that maybe it was more of an even trade than I once thought. Still though, I'd rather have a position player who puts up Hamilton's kind of numbers than a pitcher who only tosses once a week.

Phillies have scored 35 runs in their last two games (15-6 win over Houston and 20-5 win over Colorado) and have proceeded to put up 7 more in the first two innings against the M*A*S*H unit that is the Rockies ...

These next couple of weeks will gauge how good the Marlins are. Tonight they will either lose or win the series against the Mets. Then they play @ Philly in three then @ Atlanta in four. By June 6th the Marlind could be anywhere from comfortly in first to comfortly in fourth.

That was a great game pics up coming in a few days

If you are talking about the Marlin/Mets game, it damn sure was. Even though the Fish lost it was really exciting.

First place is up for grabs on Friday night when the Marlins roll into Philadelphia to face the red-hot Phillies.

Adam Eaton finally got a win in his 11th start of the season for the ball club last night. Colorado looks in as bad shape as Daniel Lorusso right before he executed that crane kick ...

Uggh. Eveland looked just horrible today in the loss to the Jays. Bad game for sure, especially after last nights heart breaking 2-1 loss to the Jays.
