goforbroke
I may be the minority here, but I'd love to see the team that is hosting the game's uniforms to be used as the inspiration. So an interlocing AL on pinstripes for the American league, and a grey with NATIONAL arched for National League. Just think it could be cool.My other idea would be a throwback All Star game, where all the players wore their respective team's throwback jerseys. Have it sponsored by Mitchell and Ness, ebbets field flannels or something and they do all the jerseys.Eh, no thanks to either idea.I love the Yankees, but I feel their tradition lets them get way with otherwise bland uniforms. Look at the Rockies homes for example. They just look boring. And the throwbacks... man, I just don't know about that. I'm kinda tired of throwbacks already (I actually was 5 years ago). Let the teams wear their current unis. One thing I think might be worth a try just once is have the teams wear matching uniforms. So use the All-Star jerseys not just for BP, but for the Game too. They can do like the pro bowl (I can't believe anything from the pro bowl is worth borrowing) and wear their own caps but with the matching jerseys. Artmanc3po
Once again, I'm glad MLB has the players wear their own uniforms instead of putting them in special uniforms that look terrible. I think the Pro Bowl would look more like a real game if it followed MLB's tradition in that regard.

They can do like the pro bowl (I can't believe anything from the pro bowl is worth borrowing) and wear their own caps but with the matching jerseys. They kiboshed that idea a few years ago when the game was in Chicago (remember the white and black tops that resembled the tops from the late 70s?). Ever since the Century 21 jerseys worn in Boston, most every all-star game uniform had a hint of something from the home team, whether it was the font, a motif (a mountain, the facade, a flying star), or the color scheme. But it wasn't like the NHL or NBA all-star games in which the uniform was almost identical to the host's uniforms (the purple or gold NBA uniforms in Los Angeles one year, or the Cosby uniforms in New York with the words WALES and CAMPBELL on the front that looked just like the Rangers togs). hecticbro
That might be cool if it weren't for the fact that every other team's fans hate the Yankees. You think Red Sox fans would rush out to buy an All-Star jersey for one of their players if it looked just like a Yankee jersey?
WJMorris3
I think it'd look better with no names on the back of the jerseys.

erlovepuck
I just saw those on MLB.com as well and I'm having trouble formulating an opinion. I like the idea of them with the facade above the word mark and all but I'm not crazy about that font. I know its only for the home run derby and stuff but I'm looking forward to seeing which team's gray pants will match the shade on the jersey and which won't. dunford
Thank goodness the Padres suck and will only have (probably) one person wearing that with their sand pants. Ye Gods.
Billy B
I like how the jerseys look by themselves, but paired with each team's pants, this could be pretty messy. With the AL, teams with pinstriped pants will look a bit off when viewed from the side with the white panel. Then in the AL you've got teams with different shades of gray pants, plus the Padres sand pants.
goforbroke
With the serif capital 'I' there is really no need for that red star to dot it. It looks out of place and throws off the whole balance of the wordmark. And the facade (friese whatever you wanna call it) looks tacked on. It should be more centered in the wordmark and more graphically appealing. The curve of it (depth-wise) doesn't really match the curve of the letters. I think its an OK idea for a wordmark, but needs a little more thought.
Joshawaggie
I didn't think of that before, the Padres' player is gonna look ridiculous with a grey top and sand pants. Perhaps the worst combo ever. @josh_j12 CFA- Fargo Bobcats
oddball
Maybe the Padre player will wear white pants and then wear white pants with the blue tops in the game. As far as the star above the serifed "I". Well knowing that the font is Trajan and that all the letters between the A and the N are lowercase, then I find it appropriate to dot the I with a star. The nature of that font is that they all look like uppercase, giving them a nod to the original Roman font which is all caps. Both the original Roman font and Trajan are graphically read as blocks of type more than most fonts. I find it interesting that they took a font like Trajan, and arched it just a bit, I think it's nice little bit of design.
STL FANATIC
They're decent with a solid concept and don't really look well thought out.I can't stand when a good concept gets shorted. Makes me hate it even if it's not really that bad. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
FiddySicks
San Francisco definitely pulled off the "City/Stadium Trademark" much better last season. Cujo
San Francisco definitely pulled off the "City/Stadium Trademark" much better last season.Agreed. San Francisco pulled off the AL-NL/Golden Gate logos verrrry well, but the BPs as a whole were totally killed by slapping Cubs-style numbers on the back of em. Why they were chosen over SF's Will Clark-era digits, I will never know.
