Geoff
I doubt the Austin Ice Bats are too thrilled about thisThe Ice Bats have known about this for a while and have been playing in a rink that sits about 1,900. Not exactly the most profitable. They have been looking into moving to Beaumont.I've seen a news article about Thunder possibly being the new name, but nothing official. And where would the Stars go for their one-year partial affiliation? Perhaps San Antonio? I'm pretty sure the AHL grandfathered the "no dual affiliation" in a couple years ago. Since the Sabres left Rochester after this year, that means the rule is in full effect. rainmaker17
Ironic. Today's American-Statesman printed this:http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sp...507icebats.html I'm still puzzled as to why the Bats left the Expo Center. Either way so long kids practice rink (a.k.a. Chapparall Ice), I won't miss you.

rainmaker17
And the Ice Bats are done in Austin....http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sp...507icebats.htmlSad but inevitable. I've been going since the very first game and I'll admit this is a little depressing. Guess I'm a Stars fan X2 now.

Burmy
My proposal for a name:IOWA REAPERSReason: Tribute to the state's agricultural heritage, but also makes for a cool logo.
