no97
Yankees hat worked the best since it kina matches their logoThe Yankees have worn their usual hat since, what, 1913? What a way to steamroll tradition. It's not like the Yanks haven't "steamrolled" that tradition for something patriotic before Moose
Survival79
Maybe I missed it, but what blue was used for these caps? Looks close to what the Rays and Indians normally wear. Also, the Rays and Royals wore them on July 4th, 5th, and 6th. Frenchie
The Jays are wearing the caps against the M's. The navy blue hats (not necessarily the logo) look great in that set.I like the way they used to treat Canada Day in the late '90's/early '00's with a special hat and uniform. It was a nice touch and now that they are the only team in Canada I would like they would try be 1) home for Canada Day and 2) promote that they are the only Canadian team.Seattle's close enough to the border to allow for a good Canadian crowd. If we want to make the Jays Canada's team, it's fair to give fans from Coast to Coast a chance to attend... I'm fine with that... @Frenchie_TO Owner of the Rochester Americans of the MLH Owner of the Toronto Frenchies of the GCFHL6
BallWonk
Maybe I missed it, but what blue was used for these caps? Looks close to what the Rays and Indians normally wear.It is the same fabric that the Cedar Rapids Kernels use, which I believe is also the same as the Cleveland Indians. But I don't have an Indians cap, and I do have both Kernels caps to compare a Nats patriotic cap to, and it's the same oversaturated medium navy that almost turns purple in certain lights as the Kernels caps. TwinsTerritory
I saw an ump wearing that hat for the first time on Saturday, but couldn't find the picture. They really stuck out whenever the camera went by the umps. Twins-Territory.com

I still remember being a kid in the 80's (when the Blue Jays were good and the M's always sucked), and it seemed half of British Columbia would come down. They always brought cow bells to ring whenever George Bell was up.

Discrim
is it just me or did the Yanks opt out of wearing these on the field? A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
Mat
The second worst thing about these caps -- now that I've seen the Cubs wear them 3 times and the Sox once, plus other highlights -- is that even in HD it is nearly impossible to see the flag details within the small cap logos. It almost looks like navy on navy with a white outline, but mostly it just looks odd. They really dropped the ball on these in many ways, IMO.i could clearly make out the hat details watching in standard definition...

Joshawaggie
I saw the Angels and Blue Jays on Sunday. The Angels looked decent, as navy blue is actually part of thier colors, but the Jays looked dumb with the Navy blue, especially since they were wearing the black unis (it was f'ing hot, why would they wear black). @josh_j12 CFA- Fargo Bobcats

tml4life85
They say that the black jerseys are made out of lighter material which is why the tend to wear them on hot days supposedly.
amare32
God Bless America, but ... these hats are a disaster. Please don't get all cute on us like this again, MLB. Thx.

Been discussed here many times. Untill this season only homes and Alts were CoolBase so you saw a lot of teams wear alts on the road because of it. But this season they just introduced road CoolBase jerseys so that kind of takes care of that issue. Otherwise, never in normal game action... except for maybe the Rays cap, since the two sections were clearly defined.
