Chad Johnson trying to change his last name

If this goes through I just can't support him anymore. Plain and simple, I will not stick up for him anymore when other teams fans bash him. The guy is out of his mind, this is really really stupid. Also, it's not even correct. Ochenta y Cinco is eighty-five in spanish.

I've heard this alot, and at first I agreed with those who said that.

However, isn't it somewhat common to refer to a players number as "Eight Five" every now and then?

I mean if I said "Chad Johnson's number is Eight-Five"...it wouldn't sound THAT weird.

I love this. It's fun, and it's harmless. You definitely don't want too many Chad Johnson types in the league, but having a few doesn't hurt.

This thread is dedicated to his number change only though

1) He's not changing his number

2) He doesn't deserve this kind of attention. Stop enabling him.

The chances of Chad Johnson peering into this board are about the same as Kofi Annan doing the same.

...oh wait.

I'm just saying the continued propogation of this non-story is counterproductive.

So the guy is changing his name to cash in on some of that money that he feels the Bengals aren't giving him. It's genius marketing strategy really. Some may call him crazy, but I know others, as myself, may just feel that he is working the system over every way he can. Can you really blame the guy?

After changing his name, I'd like to see him get dealt to Detroit where #85 is retired.

That'd shut him up (for once).

Even better, the Rams. Detroit's #85 has been issued since it was unofficially retired - he might actually get it.

IIRC he almost was this past offseason.

Somehow. I think this would be even more popular than his original plan.

i like the guy. He's out there. You never know what you're gonna get with him. He plays the media like a fiddle, and ESPN eats up his gibberish and asks for seconds.

Half the things he says aren't true or even make sense, but they'll put it on SportsCenter. He's gotta be cracking up every time they do it.

Keep it up, Ocho Cinco...
