Ugh.... 6-1....

Cue up the boring, uneventful, and ultimately disgusting Red Wings/Penguins Cup rematch

Amen.

Yes, Crosby and Malkin are clearly men (kids) on a mission.

This will be a great series/rematch.

The Penguins can do it, but will they?

So how long before you're sportin' a Penguins logo avatar? :P

Wow... You might as well get ready for the rematch between Detroit and Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Finals.

My only question is this: Can the Penguins stand toe-to-toe with the mighty Red Wings?

I think they can. Going through a repeat of last year is something this group will categorically refuse to go through again. It will be fun to see just how much the Pens have learned since last June. The Pens would match up better against Chicago but I would rather see them earn it against Detroit. Also I would love few things more then for Hossa to get that close and be denied, especially if it happens against the Pens.

The Hawks played terrible today, and it was getting embarassing with all the dirty penalties they were taking. You could really see their youth showing today, except for Toews, I think he showed why he is deserving of being their captain. It's going to be almost impossible to take three in a row from Detroit, so bearing a miracle, I'll be pulling for the Pens to win the Cup.

I totally forgot about him. Now I'm going to root for the Penguins even harder. What a way to fuel things up!!

Soon! lol

When the playoffs are over I'll go back to my usual Charger 77 logo.

My favorite NHL teams have always been:

1. Toronto Maple Leafs

2. Whoever is playing the Wings

Yea. The Wings are one of those polarizing sports franchises. Either you love them or hate them. There are very few "indifferent" opinions about the Red Wings.

Me? I hate them... Go Pens Go...

:-P

You know, I never had a clue what team you actually liked. I knew who you hated though...lol.

I hate the Red Wings, but I respect the hell out of their organization and Pittsburgh is a city that should in no way ever get two championships in the same calendar year.

I wanted the Penguins to win last season, this year I'll pull for the Red Wings though I wouldn't be unhappy if both teams went on strike and the cup finals were cancelled this season.

Believe it or not I am indifferent about them in most years, I just want to see someone else win this year.

I agree. They rarely seems to make the wrong choice. I wish the Leafs or any of the hand full of my top 3-4 favorite teams followed "The Red Wings Model". However, even though they are a few years away I feel that they are on the path to become serious contenders.

Now THAT would be interesting.

Now as for the playoffs, I'm really pulling for Chicago to come back. I really don't want to see the Red Wings in a position to win yet another Cup, plus I think it's good for the NHL in general if the Finals looked different each year.

Realisitically though, it'll be Pens/Wings II. Go Pens!

Getting the team under the ownership of a single person, ala the Red Wings, rather then a multi-headed corporation would help. Which is why I think if Balsillie fails to buy the 'Yotes he should just put an offer in for the Leafs.

This is ironic as hell. The two main guys known for hating on a certain team (charger & neon) root for the same team. Go figure. :P

They should shorten the regular season and start the playoffs before April, that will make the playoffs end sooner.

Start the season on the 1st of October, and start the playoffs as close to April 1st as possible. That the NHL wraps up right at the same time as the NBA, which starts almost a month later, is kinda silly.

That's not ironic at all; it makes perfect sense. When your team is the Toronto Maple Leafs, you have to find alternative avenues of expression.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The NBA can play more games in a shoter time do to the lack of energy needed during basketball games compared to hockey games. That's why they end at the same time.

:censored: is you talking about? Lack of energy?

So I guess that lack of energy MUST be the reason behind those guys sweating buckets every night. That's GOTTA be the reason.
