KCScout76
At last I can post the final selections made by our committee for the new official logos of Raytown High School and Raytown South H.S. - Both logos were designed by members of our own CCSLC. I know the Cardinals' logo is by Redeye Design, but I was not told who did the Bluejays' logos. Please speak up who ever did the work, you need to take a bow, great job both of you.Without further words, here they are:I want to thank all who submitted their work - great job everyone. Arts11
Nice. Strangely enough though, I like the Blue Jay's head better than the Cardinal's, yet I like the Cardinal's body more than the Blue Jay's lol.
chestnutz
No offense to the designers, they're both great, but I thought there were definitely some better submissions. Congrats though. erikas | go birds | dribbble
tajmccall
Where are the other submissions? I went searching for them and couldn't really find any. Store 1 Store
rtrich11
Kennedy, that Cardinals wordmark is mine. Same font, shape, the works. If these designers get paid, do I get anything for that? And I guess they weren't kidding when they wanted a fightin' bird, or whatever we called it. That's exactly what they got. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
FiddySicks
I know this is entirely off topic, but I just realized that one of my favorite hip hop artists, Mac Lethal, went to Raytown High. The line from this song at 3:10 kept running through my head whenever I read the topic title. Quillz
Looks like a more cartoonish take on the Arizona Cardinals logo. I like the blue jay head, though.
RedEye
I emailed Tom about that word mark. They had asked to place my head on this word mark and I guess I assumed they had that all taken care of and had the right to do it... don't think she realized she shouldn't do that without at least asking his permission. Kennedy, if you can talk to her and see what they want to do about that... doesn't matter to me what they decide to do.
burgundy
I'm not sure who did the Bluejays logo, but I do know that the design is heavily based off of a student sketch. Great Job though on the designs.
KCScout76
burgundyskin is correct, the original logo selected was thought not to have been "tough/mean" enough. They had a sketch of a bluejay submitted by a student and it was overhauled. They are veryhappy withthe final product. A friend of mine works at Raytown High School and he really likes the new bird.Kennedy, if you can talk to her and see what they want to do about that - I will speak withmy boss, I didn't know the two were combined until TRich brought it up - Good work by both of you!!! andrewharrington
Congrats to the winners, or survivors, so to speak. This was my final sub. I never posted the full body versions in the other thread. sideshowbob
^^^^^ absolutely gorgeous work right there imo. I like the selections but andrew's logos, all of them, are beautiful. Mac the Knife
Congrats to the winners, or survivors, so to speak. This was my final sub. I never posted the full body versions in the other thread.Andrew, should you ever decide to let a non-profit group use your "discard work" gratis, let me know. I'd rename one or two of our softball teams just to use those cool marks!

leopard88
Congrats to the winners, or survivors, so to speak. This was my final sub. I never posted the full body versions in the other thread.Ooohwee.Nicely done, sir.The only thing wrong with these is that you would have two schools who are presumably rivals with logos that are, in large part, recolored mirror images of one another (referring to the full body logos, that is). Other than that, these both look great. Firefly
When you posted these on the other thread I figured full bird versions much more angular. I love the old style fun feeling of the figures while they employ modern rendering style. . I esp. love how the striped shirt and large forearms gives a Popeye vibe on the cardinal. sacker12
Those look really nice. The cardinal logo looks like a mix of the Arizona Cardinals and Illinois State, and the bluejay logo looks like a mix of Toronto's and Creighton's.

rtrich11
Here's what I submitted, but didn't post on the old Requests board. I made it to the next round, where they asked for a different beak. (What do y'all think?)Notice the wordmark is the same as the art they picked. As Redeye explained, he was asked to add it to his design and didn't know it was submitted by another person from the "contest". He's been cool about that. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
KCScout76
TRich and Andrew's submissions were part of the first phase selections. The final two choices were between Redeye Design and TRich's. Seems parts of two were combined to make the one - I am in the process of making sure each of our artist are compensated for their works.I can't say enough about the wonderful concepts that were submitted. We had about 12 different cardinals and 15 bluejay logos submitted. The committee was very happy with the concepts they had to choose from. Great work byall our artists. Whether or not your work was selected, I do appreciate your time and talents. All our high schools and the new middle school logo (Raytown Central Ravens) were done by "artists" of the CCSLC boards.I hope to call on you and your talents another day!!
