DustDevil61 988 Posted June 21, 2009 We've covered some changes for the 2009-10 NBA season in the 76ers thread, but I felt the need to give all NBA changes a thread of its own for 2009-10. Here is what I'm aware of:--76ers going (more) Old-School, Red-White-Blue--Rockets introducing Gold (Yellow or not?) as a third color--Bobcats demoting orange to secondary status, making blue main color (Ugh!)--Jazz dropping mountain/ball logo (and possibly purple) from color scheme--Warriors possibly dropping Gold (Yellow) from color schemeIs there anything else out there? Anyone have more details? This is the place to put it.
Delux247 37 Posted June 21, 2009 --76ers going (more) Old-School, Red-White-BlueLast I heard, they're unveiling that change on Tuesday (6/23). Is that still correct?
IceCap 22,331 Posted June 21, 2009 --76ers going (more) Old-School, Red-White-BlueGood. --Rockets introducing Gold (Yellow or not?) as a third colorCould be interesting. Still not sure how silver and gold/yellow will look together though. --Bobcats demoting orange to secondary status, making blue main color (Ugh!)Bad, bad, bad move. I'm one of the few that likes the overall identity of the Bobcats, and I've always liked their orange uniforms. It was unique. Now they'll look like Knicks knock-offs. --Jazz dropping mountain/ball logo (and possibly purple) from color schemeGood.--Warriors possibly dropping Gold (Yellow) from color schemeA shame, I think the Warriors currently have one of the best colour combos in the NBA. I'll reserve judgement for the new look though.
BBTV 20,151 Posted June 21, 2009 Wait - so we have a thread to discuss the 76ers change, and now there's this thread to discuss the 76ers change? Why not let each change have it's own thread so the discussion in each thread is about one thing, and the thread doesn't turn in to five different discussions happening at the same time. I thought we did away with these all-encompassing threads.
TruColor 639 Posted June 21, 2009 --Warriors possibly dropping Gold (Yellow) from color schemeA shame, I think the Warriors currently have one of the best colour combos in the NBA. I'll reserve judgement for the new look though. As I mentioned before, there's no real evidence of this. The document that implies an emphasis on Navy and Orange (and not Yellow) has made this claim for a couple of seasons now.
Delux247 37 Posted June 21, 2009 --Jazz dropping . . . and possibly purple . . . from color schemeThis may have more truthfulness to it than I initially gave it credit. I went to the Jazz's website and the background wallpaper that loads up has the portion of the Jazz's logo which includes purple mountains at the very bottom right hand corner. The mountains look navy blue & NOT PURPLE. Assuming this change is real, would they now look something like this: (yes, my fill tool still works great)

the admiral 28,765 Posted June 21, 2009 A recolor of a recolor of a logo that was great because of its colors. They don't know what they're doing.
Hoopskid 436 Posted June 22, 2009 Just something cool here to show the color distribution of the NBA. As most of you know, every home team wears white except for the Lakers who wear yellow/gold. The uniforms for the 2008/09 season look like this:Color: Road Uniform #: Alternate Uniform #: Blue 15 5Green 2 2Red 5 6Black 4 2Purple 3 0Orange 1 2Yellow 0 1White 0 1Half of the teams road uniforms are blue, and with the Bobcats expected to shift to blue then 16/30 road uniforms will be blue. In my table above a blue uniform is navy, light blue, teal and slate blue. Red has gone up, especially with the amount of Red alternate jerseys appearing and black is going down. With the Sixers changing from black to most likely red, that'll put black uniforms down to 3. Several uniforms can be altered and added to balance the chart out a bit.
DallasSports 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Rockets are really going to add yellow, though? Yellow and silver outlines doesn't seem great together. Could it just be a throwback?

HisAirness24 0 Posted June 23, 2009 On the 2009-10 NBA Identity Preference Sheet, the #1 identity preference for the Pistons says:SECONDARY (BALL)Correct me if I'm wrong, but since when did the Pistons have a secondary ball logo? I think thats something to look out for.

Hoopskid 436 Posted June 23, 2009 Um, (IMAGE)What's your point? That's the primary, not secondary.
AAO 113 Posted June 23, 2009 The only secondary they have that I'm aware of is the D in the P, which I think is stupid. There is no 'ball secondary', at least yet. We'll see, I wouldn't read to deep into that though, those ID sheets aren't always that accurate.

Delux247 37 Posted June 23, 2009 What the hell?I really dislike the font they use in that script. I hope the prevalence of it surrounding the draft is not a sign of things to come. I do like the idea of dropping the purple. After all, they haven't used purple at all in their jerseys since updating colors (but that would remove the "purple mountain majesty" from their logo).
patsox 66 Posted June 23, 2009 I will be really disappointed if Utah drops their current primary logo for the one shown on the graphic OSF posted. The music note logo is okay at best on its own, but when you put it with script and call it a primary logo it's nowhere near as good as their current logo (which isn't incredible to begin with IMO).
Unwind 149 Posted June 23, 2009 What the hell?Hasn't this already been discussed? Isn't this just a corporate/promotions logo or something?
