epper
Watching the Rays play the Jays the last few games had got me thinking about how badly they fleeced the Twins a couple years ago in getting Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett for Delmon Young (World Greatest 5th Outfielder) and Brendan Harris (Utility Scrub.)Lets post the worst trades—or best trades, depending on how you look at it—you can think of, in any sport. Off the top of my head for baseball:- Of course you can't start without Minnesota getting Liriano, Nathan and Bonser for AJ Pierzynski- Red Sox trade Jeff Bagwell for someone named Larry Andersen- The Johan Santana deal is also looking pretty bad for the Twins right now... KevinMcD
George Sherrill (All Star '08), Adam Jones (All Star '09), Chris Tillman (Orioles 1st or 2nd best Pitching prospect) and two current AAA/AA prospects for oft injured Erik Bedard. He may be pitching well this year, but I would now take Tillman or Jones straight up for him, probably give up a few minor leaguers too.Maybe not the best ever, but up there for the history of the Orioles. FiddySicks
The Nathan trade was a horrible move for the Giants to make, but a few years before that they completely ripped off the Pirates.SF Gets: Jason Schmidt (Ended up anchoring the Giants rotation for 5 seasons, including the 02 pennant season)John Vander Wal (Was a great pinch hitter for SF after the trade)PIT Gets:Armando Rios (Who in his very first game after being traded, against San Francisco nonetheless, made a critical fielding error that cost the Pirates the game. And it only got worse for him after that. He later would get caught using roids)Ryan Vogelsong (Was hurt most of the time and is now playing in the Japanese leagues) On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) cappital92
How can an Orioles fan post in this thread and not mention Frank Robinson for Milt Pappas, Jack Baldschun, and Dick Simpson? As a Wizards fan, I've always enjoyed Caron Bulter and Chucky Atkins to the Lakers for Kwame Brown and Laron Profit. http://www.wizardsxtra.com Is it the shoes? TFoA
Pau Gasol to the Lakers for a hill of beans. The Memphis Grizzlies basically gave the Lakers the western conference title that year.

Corvus
Mats Sundin for Wendel Clark. Imagine those mid 90's Avs teams with Sackic, Forsberg and Sundin. And some Canuck involved horrible trades. Neely for Barry PedersonBlues trade Cliff Ronning, Geoff Courtnall, Robert Dirk, Sergio Momesso and a 5th round draft pick (Brian Loney) to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Garth Butcher and Dan Quinn. God, I miss Ron Caron that crazy bastard, I mean serious, a perfectly serviceable forward line, depth defenceman and a draft pick for Butcher and Quinn was complete lunacy. Florida trades Roberto Luongo, Lukas Krajicek and a sixth-round selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft (Sergei Shirokov) to Vancouver in exchange for Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan Allen, and Alex Auld. I mean come on, Nonis probably thought this was a prank call when it was offered. Troubled, moody, declining power forward for one of the best young goalies in the game? If there are any hockey fans in Miama, they probably want Keenan's head on a platter.
MVP
Vince Carter to the Nets for Aaron Williams, Eric Williams, Alonzo Mourning (bought out), 2 draft picks (Charlie Villanueva and Joey Graham).NHL-wise, pretty much any trade by Mike Milbury with the Islanders. NEW.ERA
Trade could have worked out I mean at the time it was smart was it?1990 DraftFlames traded their first round selection in 1990, Detroit's second round selection in 1990 (previously acquired), and Minnesota's second round selection in 1990 (previously acquired) to the New Jersey Devils for the Devils' first and second round selections in 1990This was all to get the most sought after goalie in this draft which was thought of a pretty goalie friendly draft and overall on of the deepest on record, The Flames move up to 11th and the Devils move down to 20th, Flames draft Trevor Kidd and the Devils at 20 draft arguably the Greatest Goalie ever to play Martin Brodeur. As for the rest of those picks that went down, Flames in the 2nd round draft Vesa Viitakoski who never panned out in the NHL but still plays in Finland, Devils take Chris Gotziaman, David Harlock both never made an impact in the NHL I know it's the draft and it could have been vice versa for Kidd and Brodeur's careers but this goes to show never overlook players in the draft, also Felix Potvin was selected 31st overall in the 2nd round by the Toronto Maple Leafs.NFL Trade one of the best steals of all time Ron Wolf Packers GM sends a First Round Pick (19th Overall RB Tony Smith) to the Falcons for Future Hall of Famer and one of the Best QB's of all time in Brett Favre JETS|PACK|JAYS|NUFC|BAMA|BOMBERS|RAPS|ORANJE|

WJMorris3
Oh, and another one, draftwise. Philly traded up in the... 1995 draft, I think, to draft Mike Mamula out of BC. With the Eagles' original pick, the Bucs drafted Warren Sapp.
