EatSleepJeep
I found Ken Houston as an Oiler, but Brandon's Wheaton King playing for the Brandon Wheat Kings still has to be the ultimate example.

Braden
hahaha . what are the chances ?The chances that a Wheat Kings fanatic with the last name King, convincing his wife to name him after his team, then forcing the kid into hockey at an early age, the kid having the skill to be pretty good at it, and making it up to the junior level for his hometown team?Puh-lease... He went on to play cricket for Lancashire and England.
Shumway
Wheaton King? Sounds Amish. Then again, he's got the haircut to suit.

spyboy1
That sounds more like the name they should have given to the team mascot! Hilarious. He must have been named after the team in some way. I have to agree with that. Up until now my two favorite sports player names were a Philadelphia Eagles player in the mid 70's named Will Wynn and Oakland A's pitcher Josh Outman. SenatorJake
I was going to come on here and try to find a more aptly named player, but after seeing Wheaton King, I can safely say that it cannot be done. I concede, Wheaton King is the most aptly named player of all time.
