-(dp)-
http://goeags.com/sports/m-footbl/2009-10/releases/10fbJan26RedTurfI am not a fan. That logo just does not look good on a red background, in my opinion.
WatsonTiger
I thought has already been posted a while back?IMO, if it has Texas/Ohio state's texture, it will be badass.if it has Boise's, it's going to be unwatchable.an yes, there is a difference. -(dp)-
I thought has already been posted a while back?I don't know. I did a quick search and didn't see anything, and the school just put this out there yesterday. If it has, I am sorry.
CDixonDesign
I seem to remember another school getting blue texture and Boise St. being ticked, maybe that's what you're thinking...
RichardWitham
i actually kinda like the colored turf, as long as you can see the ball, and as long as it's all nexturf or whatever, it could be cool. Billy B
I thought that the NCAA had outlawed colored turf and Boise State was just grandfathered in, guess not. It's going to be hard to decide how it looks until I actually see it. Like someone said, it could look great or it could look horrible.

BallWonk
I thought that the NCAA had outlawed colored turf ...But green turf is also colored. Red or blue or fuschia turf is no more real or natural than green turf. So the real test should not be, "Is the turf green?" but, "Does the color of the turf impede its function?" To that end, you want the turf to not do any of the following:Make it hard to see or spot the ball.Make it hard to see individual players, either in person or on TV.Distract or confuse players.#1 pretty much rules out red, orange, or brown turf. #2 argues against turf the same color as the home team's uniforms (which in Oregon suggests a change away from green turf). #3 argues for a consistent turf color in all fields, or at least a range of permitted, neutral turf colors. Put those considerations in a blender, and you get either a standardized shade of slate gray, a suite of approved dusty pastels, or a turquoise field not too far from Pantone 319C:Which is close to maximum contrast with the apparent color of NCAA footballs. Though green is a good second choice from a contrast-with-the-football perspective.

-kj
Here's where I'm going to steer the conversation back towards the turf color and away from the piling-on of one of the members. Everyone on board with that? Good. The blue turf is kind of cool, but I think red would be much too bright and distracting, just by the nature of the color. I disagree, though, about how the EWU logo looks on a red background, because that looks awesome. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! rams80
I assume this is red for the same (alleged) reason that some military uniforms are red? hawk36
I don't get it. This is horrible. It reminds me of playing basketball on a carpeted court as a kid (talk about rug burns). Even as an 11 year old I thought it was cheap and cheesy looking compared to our old Boy's Club battered wooden court. I find it incredibly difficult to watch a Boise State home game because of their monochrome blue unis. I wish they'd adopt some white helmets and pants.
