The Game Versus Something Else

When your teams are playing, do you ALWAYS watch the game, no matter what else is on? I certainly do, but my best friend just told me that instead of watching the Red Wings he watched the freakin' MASTERS! I'm so angry right now. He says he's a huge fan of the Wings and the Tigers, but I'm not so sure. He's also been guilty of watching NBC when the Wings played on Thursday nights.

Anyone else watch Must See TV (or something else) instead of the game?

Porn... and it was only in between the 2nd and 3rd period of the Devils 9-1 drubbing of the Edmonton Oilers at the Meadowlands in 1998.

Knicks before all else... well, almost all... unless its something important in the news.

Commercials and Halftime are the time to flip around, but they always end up right back on good ol' MSG Network.

Well Wings for Preds is hardly exciting I mean Wings shoudl cruise in the series. The one game Im intersted in is tommorow to see if teh building in Music City is buzzing.

I had to decided between watching the Flyers (my 2nd favorite NHL team) and wathcing the Denver Pioneers winning the National Championship. I chose to watch each game in shifts. A few minutes for one, then switch.

Today's Wings/Preds game was pretty exciting, actually, though I'd've rather had the Blues game on here. (Damned ABC.)

the game ALWAYS come first.

the only time there is usually a problem is if two of my teams are playing at the same time. but if say, a sharks playoff game is on the same time as a giants regular season game in april, then the sharks playoff game comes first because it has greater significance.

but I dont watch TV much to begin with. about the only thing I watch on TV is sports. the rest of the time Im either on here, at the game, or out cruising playing with my camera and looking for a japanese girlfriend :D

as i found saturday, the game (in this case Cubs-Braves) was defeated by Braves fans' spoiled asses. And so, the game was played in secret :cursing:

I usually channel surf if I'm just watching a game for the heck of it. But today I spent time flipping between the Giants-Padres game and Swordfish, which was on TNT, during commercials for Swordfish I would watch the Giants-Padres game.

I'm not really much for watching sports on TV though cause I'm a guy who has to be really involved to keep my attention.

But if the Chiefs or Diamondbacks are playing I'm usually holding a pretty good attention span.

I can't actually WATCH the games i'm most invested in (i.e. Tech Football, and Tech Basketball tourniments)

I get WAY to pissed off, nervous, freaked out about every single solitary shot, foul call, fumble, loss, tackle, lane violation, pass, run, catch, shot, kick.. EVERYTHING makes me crazy when I watch.

So, I tape. (or now, DVR)

And when I find out who won, I watch and see.

Being a Sabres fan in Atlanta, I only see them on TV maybe three times a year(Maybe(big maybe) once on ESPN2 and twice on the local networks when the Thrashers play the Sabres in Buffalo). So its not really a problem that I deal with much. But I do go to every Sabres game here in Atlanta. When I do get to see them on TV I always watch and just flip during TV breaks and intermissions.

For about half the season, I watched the Thrashers religiously. I watched every minute of every game from about game #10 through Christmas, which is when I got so busy I couldn't watch them. After that, I never could get back into watching it. (And ironically, when I stopped watching, they started losing like crazy... I blame myself for crushing their playoff hopes!)

However, I've been hooked on the NHL Playoffs. I mean, I'm a Thrashers/Avs fan and I wouldn't let my friend change the channel to watch South Park during the Canucks/Flames game from last night. I watched all three games yesterday from start to finish (Wings/Preds, Bruins/Habs, Canucks/Flames), which is an amazing feat for me. I love hockey! :D

i usually watch my team's games... if there's a chance for a knob polishing, though...i'll put the game on hold until afterwards.

and that, my friends, is me being a prototypical american male.
