Ohio State will wear pink in its spring game to benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for breast cancer research. As some of you might not know she is Chris Spielmans wife and recently died of breast cancer last november.

I really like the idea behind this and cant wait to see these jerseys in action as i will be going to the spring game.

I think I am OK with this... I like the idea behind it. As long as it isn't during the season.

Its most definately not for the season. They are selling the uniforms after the game to raise money for the charity.

I'm for it then. If its just for the Scarlet and Gray game... and if its ALL going to charity... then I'm in.

My heart goes out to the Spielman family... Chris played football the way it was supposed to be played...

...though I must say that I think the color pink suits Ohio State and Justin Boren... :D

Allegedly, this is going to be pink trim, just so no one is misled. I would have thought all the scarlet would be pink based on the topic title and comments, but it looks like there is going to be pink on the jersey numerals and sleeve stripes only, from what I've gathered.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

I think would have liked to see them go all out, in pink and grey instead of scarlet and grey. They have the perfect color scheme for it and the perfect reason to do it.

I'm all for Breast Cancer awareness but don't see the need for this. There are plenty of other ways to promote a charity then to mess with a teams uniforms.

They need to get more creative because this seems too lazy to me. Have the announcers promote the event throughout the game, have the endzones painted pink, or maybe even pink accents on the field, just leave the uniforms alone. There's no need to mess with the uniforms. It creates a slippery slope of changes in the future. Are they going to put yellow accents on the uniforms for Live Strong foundation? What about Aqua for Tsunami relief? Or whatever color they use for Haiti? Where does it stop?

at Pink and breast cancer. They aren't doing this randomly. They're doing it because of Stephanie Speilman's death. Her battle with cancer was heavily publicized in Columbus. Unless someone else close to the program dies of a disease then I don't think we're going to see more uniform changes to benefit research.

very fitting! :P j/k

Its for a great cause and a good way of doing it for the spring game instead of regular season.

haha, I was going to say the same. (Probably a UM thing...just a guess)

Wouldn't it just be that much worse for U of M to get pounded by OSU one more time while the Buckeyes wear pink?

Just saying...

I know this has nothing to do with this thread, but I was looking through the custom Mcfarlanes in your sig and have to ask, who's Cal Ripkin? And Jason Veritek?

They were created for past clients... Is that what your meaning? The Jason Veritek is a July 4th special Catchers equipment version... The Cal well, it's the salute to his baseball career...

I certainly hope nobody actually paid you money for figures of players who never actually existed.
