I'll be in Miami in a couple weeks.

Do any of the natives know if they'll be selling soon-to-be-outdated Marlins gear come Halloween weekend?

The Marlins en Miami store was having a big sale.they are going to be moving out of their current store and are moving to the new stadium when it's done. I know there were some deep discounts, just don't know how much will be left toward the end of the month.

It's too bad if the Marlins en Miami store is already closed, because out of any place, you'd still probably be able to find teal there. I always wondered where fans were able to find so much teal merchandise, then I visited that store and found authentic all-teal fitted caps that were long shelved. I've never worn it, but I had to add one to my collection.

Milwaukee County Stadium had whole swaths of green seats, even though the team it was intended for - the American Association Brewers - never used green. Neither did the St. Louis Browns, the team they hoped to lure to it.

And Dodger Stadium has its seating areas in series of pastel colors.

I think the majority of the lower deck is a weird canary yellow color. Looks really strange.

Just to add another example: I remember growing up that each of the seating sections at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati was a different color - blue, green, yellow, and red - even though there was no blue, green, or yellow in either of the color schemes of the teams that occupied the stadium.

Is it me or is color-coding a stadium's seats to the team that plays there more of a modern thing?

Seats in team colors is more a football thing than a baseball thing, where everything is often just forest green whenever possible. Which is fine, if you ask me. If seats are going to be visibly empty, better they be visibly empty in a dark, close-to-neutral color.

I love the pastels in Dodger Stadium. They were originally set in that color scheme, very early '60s Southern California, then went to a traditional red/yellow/blue, then went back. One of the few good things the McCourts have done.

Sea foam green and creamsicle, what's not to love.

PNC Park has blue seats which are meant to be steel blue, but still(steel, hahaha get it), the Pirates don't have any trace of blue in their color scheme. Fortunately, it's close enough to black that it gets the pass.

Dark blue, like dark green, is a nice neutral color that doesn't draw attention to itself and leaves the team open to change their colors at any time without having to re-do the seats (not that the Pirates are changing ever, but for many teams that's probably a thought.) I kind of wish the seats at Citizens Bank Park were a darker blue or green, as opposed to the bright royal blue that they went with. It just looks more "classic" to have the seats darker IMO. It's only really an issue when the stadium is empty though. If anything, I wonder if team-color seats would mask a non-sellout since the empty seats would still sort of look like fans in team colored gear. Obviously wouldn't work for situations like the Marlins, but for teams that are close but not there, maybe it would mask the empties.
