The most annoying part is that the Angels' official store advertises the 59Fifty version but doesn't actually sell it:

That really grinds my gears, since I love the hat but I hate those obnoxiously curved brims. I'm just a flat-brim kind of guy.

Baseball caps are meant to be worn with a curved brim. When the brim is flat it serves no purpose. And looks stupid too.

The flat brim looks even worse when people don't take the sticker off.

That is a huge gear grinder for me. I couldnt agree more.

haha...the good ole' conservative view.

I think it's an insult when someone isn't actually on the roster has a curved brim AND takes the sticker off. So there!!!

hahahahaha :P

Conservative view huh? One, in MY opinion, it looks stupid. Two, working in retail, do you know how hard it is to tell if someones actually already paid for that hat with the stickers on it, or if they just plopped it on their head and is walking out of the store with it? For the record, the only problem I have is with keeping the sticker on, if you wanna wear a flat brimmed hat thats your business.

^ haha...I guess you didn't see the :P

I saw that. I just thought i'd sound off on it cause I'm sure theres a ton of people on here that wear it that way.

Oh I never take off the 59Fifty sticker, but I've been doing that since they started putting them on the hat....not because others do it. It just looked sweet on the brim and especially if you're wearing a pair of Tims.

^ The only sticker worth keeping on a 59Fifty is the MLB authentic hologram. So shiny!

THIS I agree with. Most of the time I take them off because they can be distracting, but on special hats, such as my Giants World Series caps, I'll keep them on.

My only pet peeve is when people don't know they can remove the huge New Era sticker that covers the entire brim and still keep the 59Fifty sticker. They're 2 separate stickers, yet so many think it's 1.

I don't see the point in the sticker on the thing. I feel it's such a terrible look. you paid for the hat - take the sticker off. unless you're going to get it put into a collection or something, just take the sticker off. And curve the bill, please. This flat bill/sticker crap needs to go away. [/rant]

Put me down in the takes the stickers off/bends the bill. The flat bill with stickers just isn't for me. This is where my recent New Era stickers go

Sticker/no sticker....flat/curved....it's all apples and oranges....different styles.

Once my 59Fifty even gets the slightest curve, I replace it. My hats are like my J's and Tim's. Mint condition or they become useless.

Yup it all comes down to what folks are comfortable with. We both have different styles but we both seem to like sneakers, jerseys, and caps.

Wow. I'm speechless.

Anyway, I love how I'm being attacked for wearing my hats with a flat brim. I look like a fool in a curved-brim hat, which is why I rock the flat-brimmed look instead. It has nothing to do with personally pissing anyone off, I just can't pull off the curved-brim look.

Cool, the thread about LA Angels throwbacks turned into hacky Apollo shtick.

Yo, check this out, you see, the WHITE guys, they wear their hats like THIS! But the brothers, THEY wear their hats like THIS!

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Oh, upon double-checking, the line is actually

Comedian: Yo, check this out: black guys drive a car like this.

[Leans back, as though his elbow were on the windowsill]

Do, do, ch. Do-be-do, do-be-do-be-do.

Yeah, but white guys, see, they drive a car like this.

[Hunches forward, talks nasally]

Dee-da-dee, a-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da-dee.

[Audience howls with laughter]

Homer: Ah ha ha, it's true, it's true! We're so lame!

I don't know if that's better or worse. Anyway, the point is, there's a happy medium between wearing hats that have been mangled and bleached to death and pretending you stole a hat. So black, white, or otherwise, let's all figure out how to wear and maintain a hat. For America.

Which is wear it any way you want.

Curved brim IF you're playing in the game. Otherwise people can wear it any why they want. Regardless if it's for team support or for fashion. A clean hat with a flat brim that also looks brand new is the norm in current social groups. So to others, a curved brim looks stupid. Ignorance is a 2-way door.

People can wear their hat any way they want. You're right, but I'm still allowed to make fun of you if you have a flat bill. The worst is I go to games and see all the Bieber kids with not only flat-billed hats, but with the giant bangs hanging over their foreheads underneath the hat with their hood half-way on their heads. How do these trends became fashionable?!

I choose to dress like an adult and that means if I'm wearing a baseball hat I'll buy a hat that fits (usually the franchise lower profile, I only own one 5950 and I find it uncomfortable as can be). I curve the bill, but not too much. My hair is covered by the hat. I get hat-hair like the good lord intended. By all means, continue to wear your hats that way, but to me it's a case of the emperor's new clothes. People do it because it's fashionable, but you look patently ridiculous and when it goes out of style you'll be laughing at yourselves like I'm laughing at you now.

that usually means they'll be stocking them soon.

Let's hope so, I am keeping an eye out for these caps.

If you don't want to wait, you could try calling the team store at the stadium. They usually stock the real stuff. They had the throwbacks in the store last year and they had the retro New Era hats as well.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

That's a Bieber thing? No wonder. Went to a bar I'd never been to as a stop on a guy's bachelor party and there were so many people wearing that look. It was raining, but I really didn't know what good a sweatshirt hood on half their head did anyway, especially once they were inside. And the hoods all stayed on. It was girls and guys, mostly younger but I assume 21, so I figured it was a fashion statement of some sort. But Bieber? Weak.

I also laugh at those who try to be trendy and wear the flat bills tilted to the side with the sticker still on. This happened in the '90s, too, and it went out of style just like this one will. And you'll have a bunch of pictures you can laugh at, too, like McCarthy said. I like to go middle of the road so I can actually wear my clothes for more than one year. But I do have that one Karl Kani shirt I can sell you that helped me learn that lesson 20 years ago. Always curved the brim, though. And took off the sticker. I understand why people would want to make people think they stole it instead of look stupid for paying $40 for a custom fitted for every day's outfit, though. (Guess I had some gears to grind, too... "you kids these days...")

As far as the Angels, love the throwbacks, but I think they should stick to what they have now. They can always wear a few throwbacks every year, but this red look is the best they've had IMO. A modern update of a few of these classics.

I personally bend the bill slighty, mostly so that the cap fits my head. If it is completely flat, it doesn't rest on my head properly, it kind of sticks up. I do it for comfort rather than fashion. But the sticker thing is ridiculous. I'm sorry, but there is no good reason to leave it on the front of the bill. The stickers should be removed by the cashier during the sale, like one of those electronic sensor thingys to show it has been paid for. Its only a "fashion style" because the original idea was to look like a badass for stealing a hat. Again, I see no good reason to keep the sticker on. Oh, and for what its worth, I'm 18.
