I think the secondary point of this was to move the flat/curved bill discussion over there.

The title of this topic is "ANGELS to wear throwbacks in '11", not "Let's Argue About Bill Curvature & Tags/Stickers on Clothing". So move that to the other discussion and get back on topic.

This whole Angels throwback thing that they are doing throughout the season makes me a little sad, because I know in 2012 they'll just go right back to all red. The Angels SHOULD have some blue (& the gold halo) in use for at least the alternate. I don't think anyone is really in love with their red alt (aside from Arte, who is pushing red hard). There'd be no harm in adding a permanant home throwback alt with the blue bill hat.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

There was also a fashion hat that I found really interesting. It has the normal "A" logo on the front (with the silver halo), then it has a gold halo on top of it. It also has all of the Angels hat logos in history on the back (minus the Winged-A, which is absolutely nonexistent and absent from anywhere in this whole 50th celebration.), but those aren't pertinent to what I'm bringing up.

I just bring this up because I know this has been put forth in a concept or two around here with the current "A" logo, navy crown, and the old hat halo. Here's a look:

Back on topic I just got my throwback LA hat last night it is the one still mighty took a pic of, my dad went on a short business trip which included an angels game and he got me the cap it is my all time favorite hat now.

It is a shame that the angels totally left the whole Disney era out, it may not be the best part of their history but it is indeed part of their history.

The only place it's even mentioned right now is a couple of quick cuts in the openeing video, including the only one great moment in that era with the Jim Edmonds diving "Willy Mays" catch. They do show the logo in the logo rotation that's on one of the small video boards during the "Calling All Angels" montage.

It's really not that big of a shame, and like I said, besides the Jim Edmonds catch and then the middle parts of Tim Salmon's and Garret Anderson's careers, there is pretty nothing to take out of that era. Terrible uniforms. Terrible teams.

You obviously know much more about angels history than I do but it seems kind of weird, they wore those jerseys for 5 years so they are basically celebrating only 45 years of angels baseball instead of the 50 they have played.

You also forgot about the best move the Angels ever made was during this era, and that was the hiring of Mike Scioscia, who will quite possible see his number 14 retired with them. Which is really ironic to me being that he was my favorite player growing up with the Dodgers and yet they ignored him to only see the Angels smart enough to grab a great manager.

I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like the halo hats. For one thing, I'm not crazy about the LA monogram, but the halo always ends up being so lumpy and warped by nature of being on a soft, paneled hat. Halos always struck me (well, not literally) being pretty thick and sturdy metal rings. A jumpy white line on a baseball cap just looks like a weird and sloppy way to assemble a hat. I appreciate the effort, but it's not their best look.

No, you're not. It doesn't look at all like a halo - it's just an out-of-place circle, almost like the outline of a yarmulke. It almost looks more like a mistake than anything.

Def resembles a yarmulke from a distance.
