Remember This?

Ah yes, the "HE DID WHAT?" catch!

I remember at least watching the highlights of it on the news, as I didn't actually get to watch the game. It was so impressive to Utah's local FOX station that they showed it on their morning news the next day. It's still one of the coolest catches I've ever seen footage of (right up there with Lynn Swann's Super Bowl grab).

Antonio Freeman. I remember when the Eagles brought him in to mentor Freddie Mitchell and be the receiver that they needed to put them over the top.

That experiment didn't go well.

I think my favorite part of the video is how they have the teams as the "Vikes" and the "Pack" in the little scorebug.

I'm so glad they changed that the following year, I was never a fan of that version of the score overlay.

But yes, I remember the catch and jumping up and down in my game room/basement. I rarely get that excited, but I was 15/16 at the time, and it was a great play.

I remember watching that and feeling pretty confused. Almost as confused as everyone on the field was. It was an amazing play, but it didn't initially have that huge reaction because it took a bit of time to actually process the thought that that ball never hit the ground. Still one of the luckiest catches I've ever seen. Thats one of those catches you make in the back yard as a kid and wish more people had seen it.

Didn't ABC abandon the nicknames in the middle of the season and return to the traditional 2-3 letter airport codes?

I believe so. I was just thankful when it happened, since I always thought it was a stupid idea to begin with. I really like CBS' NFL score overlay reads, and how NBC's NHL score overlay looks.

Yes, I do remember it. I was there, in fact. The ticket stub is in a box in my closet of memorabilia and other stuff!

Really? You should scan or take a picture of it ans post it.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I finally got around to scanning this stub. The Packers added a gold outline around the tickets for the "Milwaukee" games (aka the Gold Package) back then. I happened to get lucky and get a ticket for this game, since I have tickets for the "Green Bay" package. That same seat will cost $86 this year.

So you used to sit in Section 19, row 51 at County Stadium and now you sit in Section 19, row 53 at Lambeau? How'd you work that? And how do the views compare?

Nah - this game was at Lambeau. It was one of the games that the former ticket-holders at County Stadium got to attend that year.

The guy who sits behind me had similarly located seats when he was at County Stadium, so the Packers set him up in the same seats for both the Green and Gold packages. There really weren't any good comparisons in terms of site lines between County and Lambeau. The best seats at County were likely in the upper deck down the first base line, or upper deck down the third base line. The first base line seats would have given you a sideline view, while the third base seats were an end zone view. The lower deck (IMO) was too poorly sloped to offer a good view, since you'd be too far from the field. The bleachers could have been ok, except you'd be looking over the players on the sideline.

It's where I sit.
