brobs14
passed on a Ryan Miller team USA jersey b/c I figured I'd see how they did in the tourney. Now they are triple in price.
mfoster
When I lived in OKC I passed up some $20 RHI jerseys at a Play It Again Sports... San Diego Barracudas and Las Vegas Flash, IIRC. Wife would have killed me and I doubt I'd have ever worn them, but RHI stuff is getting kinda hard to come by.
Discogod
While I was still in South Carolina, the Hornets had just left Charlotte and our Champs had Baron Davis and Jamal Mashburn Charlotte swingmen for about 30 bucks. Despite being a huge Baron Davis fan, I decided to pass on the jerseys. I thought I'd be able to find them even cheaper years down the line. Now any time I see a Charlotte Hornets swingman on Ebay it goes for a pretty good amount. And most of the time they are Mashburns, and not Baron Davis, which is the one I really really want. It's funny you say that - I bought Baron & Mashburn swingmen at full price when they first came out, and after the 2004-05 season (when Baron quit on the Hornets & demanded a trade) I sold the Baron jersey. I must have listed it on ebay half a dozen times, but it would not sell. I think I sold it for something like $25 with free shipping eventually... BDiamond
Saw a blank authentic vancouver grizzlies jersey at Marshalls about a decade ago. It was cheap too but was too ugly at the time to buy. However it's grown on me and I regret it to this day
final_sun
Warren Moon green Edmonton Eskimos jersey on clearance for $60 or something ridiculous. It was the end of my first year of university, I was broke and moving home for the summer in a couple of days. I haven't been able to track down the right size / cut of that style of jersey since. The botched extra sleeve stripe on the 70s retro series last year and no definitive news if or when the CFL will be doing the 80s retro series hasn't helped. Also, a lot of the SuperSonics merchandise I put off to "buy later" and never did. Shumway
Not a 'pass up', but I got outbid at the last second on ebay for Averman's jersey from the first Mighty Ducks movie. I had it won with 10 seconds left, refreshed the page upon the end of the auction, only to see that I had in fact lost by a damn dollar. So pissed.Similarly, Messmer's (the big, fat catcher) game/film-worn jersey from Angels in the Outfield is on ebay right now (I saw it today on there). I doubt I'll bid on it, but I do want a mid-90s Halos jersey. Just not a 3XL from a movie.
FiddySicks
I found a Randall Cunningham Eagles replica at a sports store in Hawaii a few years ago. It was so old I think it was before they had licensing for players as it didn't have a name on the back. It was only 5 bucks but I couldn't stand the Eagles at the time. I still don't like the Eagles much, but man would that be a sweet jersey to own. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) BlueSky
I passed on a sports-related thing once...an epic, history-making sports thing. When I worked at Delta people would sometimes have spare sports tickets. One day a guy had several, free for the asking, to the Braves game that night. I had a date but no big plans, and she liked sports and would've been open to going, but I decided to stick with dinner and a movie. I can't remember the movie but I damn sure remember what happened at Turner Field that night:Yeah, just the 17th perfect game in MLB history. Ben7
I passed up on a US soccer 1950 remake from NikeTown for about $20. Didn't have the extra cash at the time, and man do I wish I just swallowed the few dollars of initial debt. It was a beauty. Ceased production many years ago.Today I came across this

It appears that they're describing the same shirt. The seller is legit, the jerseys he sells are not fakes.edit: After some research, it appears there are two versions of this kit. The red sash is the true throwback, used once in 2004. The blue sash was used sparingly as a third option in 2003.
Discrim
I remember one time about 10 years ago, I was in Value Village and I saw a mid 80s Packers road jersey on the rack, #58 or 59 IIRC, G over the stripes and everything, but I was short on money at the time. I was kicking myself right then and there cus I damn well KNEW that 1) it'll be a LONG time, if ever, that I'll see one of those again, and 2) it wasn't gonna be there the next time. Arts11
For me, it's probably passing on a blue Knicks roundball logo HWC cap. Now it seems like they're not being made anymore. Also, I've been longing to get an Authentic New Era Low Crown Yankees cap ever since I first heard about them here on the boards [the regular high crowns are simply too tall/big for my head], but not only are there few places that sell them in the first place, but I haven't seen any new sizes restocked, and I'm kinda worried they might be phasing them out. Passed on it, and regretted it as early as the day after I left.
brendansdad
Not a jersey or hat story but I passed on a Manny Ramirez game used bat at an Akron-Canton Indians game when Manny played there. I regret not buying that bat every day since.

Drakonius26
I once passed on a 2004-era Calgary Flames jersey to save up for some games I wanted later that year, including the XBox 360. I ended up not being able to have enough funds to purchase this home jerseys until after their "upgrade."It still pisses me off that I could've waited on those games and that system.
