Is it me or does Baltimore's defense look mortal without Lewis in the middle? You don't see anyone drop 43 on the Ravens.

That D was mortal with Lewis in the middle—the way they kept getting Shinku-Hadoken'd by the Cowboys' rushing attack was proof enough of that—but what they are now is, quite understandably, soulless.

Last week's Ravens win also was the game in which Ladarius Webb tore his ACL. Webb was their best cover corner.

From Pro Football Focus:

In five full games this season plus the limited snaps before he tore his ACL during the first quarter of Sunday's 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys, Webb had been targeted by quarterbacks just 24 times. In Week 2, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick didn't even bother throwing his way once. On those 24 targets, Webb allowed just 11 receptions for 111 yards -- a ridiculous average of 4.6 yards per attempt.

For comparison sake, Darrelle Revis of the New York Jets, who tore his ACL three weeks ago, allowed 5.5 yards per attempt in 2011. Chicago’s Chris Tillman is allowing 5.1 yards per attempt this season. St. Louis’ Cortland Finnegan is allowing 6.0. Arizona’s Patrick Peterson is at 6.1. Philadelphia’s Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are at 8.0 and 6.4, respectively.

That is why the Jets will always be the Jets

The Jets have been undermanned, have a high schooler at quarterback, and nearly beat the defending AFC champs.

Yeah, it was a lousy ending to a game they really should have had. But how many people have them in a close game against the Pats, let alone taking them into overtime?

Precisely.

That was one heckuva showing by Gang Green today. Setting aside the fact that it was a divisional rivalry game, as noted above, hardly anyone outside the NYC, save for one guy in Ari—you know what, Curt, I've long been curious about something: just how in the world did you become a Jets fan from way the heck out there, anyway?

Per Jay Glazer, NFL Security has already begun investigation as SD equipment man was hiding illegal sticky substance and giving to players. Line judge saw it and had it confiscated and sent to broncos and league.
