Hat Boy
As did I.Instead, we have a new group of fools who think "passion for the NFL" translates into "passion for any football anywhere".No, you must be thinking of the World Football League, the USFL, the XFL, or the United Football League. The FXFL is going to be different.

Soarindude
The abbreiviations, logos, and league "summaries" are getting worse every time around too. FXFL? How in anyway is that a marketable name?

Needschat
Hey, maybe this is where all those academically strained collegiate players can go when their one-year "scholarship" contracts are terminated. Oh what could have been....

TheRicSlick
The fact it has Experimental in the name, makes me believe that they're not going to try to compete with the NFL or become a league that will be around for 4-7 years only.

I thought the stupid trend of taking the "e" out of words starting with "ex" went away over 10 years ago.
dfwabel
FWIW...1-The A11FL was looking for local ownership and (as of now) have yet to have any group bite on their franchise value of $5-10MM for 50%. The FXFL has not disclosed what their franchise values are, but Tommy Harris was able to purchase a franchise.2- The A11FL looked to play in major venues, while said gate/concession revenue was going to go to NFL team who held the master lease, as opposed to them. FXFL is looking smaller, but that may not assist them since the leases with the minor league team may control the stadiums they will play games in. That Austin teams has many high school options outside of the Dell Diamond. 3- The A11FL was relying on international investment since they could gain a work VISA for the investment. The FXFL does not seem to be looking for that to keep it alive.4- The FXFL will still have issues in creating a roster even with the late NFL camp cuts, since those players will still be looking to be on a Practice Squad. The FXFL is looking to pay $1,000/week, is it all worth that? At a salary that low, they need to have a deal with an apartment complex for housing and with a gym to workout since that does not seem large enough to afford a practice facility. 5- The A11FL went out to say they were playing their "Showcase Games" on ESPN, but they were buying the airtime, thus it was going to be an infomercial for the game. They failed to sell tickets as well as advertising, this the have gone silent. They had the rights to the old USFL team names, made new logos, but did not even have the cash to make merchandise to try to keep the idea afloat. Within the last 2 hours, the (formerly) A11FL has made their only updates since 5/1:"Dear Fans - For the last few months our investment team has been actively working on financing for a new Professional Spring Football League that will feature NFL rules. Details about the new league name will be released when we are able, but as of today the new league will no longer be branded as as the A11FL."and the second entry on Twitter:"A new entity will replace the #A11FL and feature NFL rules."Meh. Fact is there are only three cities of the six which have been named: Austin, Omaha, and South FLA with the latter two being league owned. That means the FXFL needs to name a third league owned one and find two additional franchises. There are no staffs announced yet first NFL roster cuts are August 26 and practice squads are made by August 31, no media package and what seems to be little to no money. EDIT: The South Florida team will be named on Thursday. So be it, but it seems that they also have gone from six teams to five.
