What if...

The Edmonton Oilers didn't have money problems and kept their core in tact.

The Toronto Maple Leafs made it to the 1993 Stanley Cup Final.

The Detroit Red Wings traded Steve Yzerman to the Senators as was much rumored here in the early-mid 90s.

The Packers wouldn't be Super Bowl Champs. Thank you Matt Dodge, and particularly Desean Jackson

What if dunking was allowed in the NCAA during Wilt's time?

It was. Wilt Chamberlain was playing for the Philadelphia 76ers when the NCAA banned dunking in basketball in 1967. You're thinking (in the broadest use of the word) of Lew Alcindor.

PS: You're probably more familiar with him as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. And the dunk ban didn't slow him down one bit.

What if Tiger Woods never Rose to the top of the golf world?

It's a question that is often asked, but I think one that's interesting to think about as he made golf a much more mainstream sport, and created a higher intrest in golf for a younger generation.

By the way congratulations on making a productive thread Jahgee :)

Absolutely, so far, he's right on the mark with this one. He's got Wilt Chamberlain still playing college basketball nine years after he left Kansas.

Baseball

--------

Had Ken Hubbs not died in a plane crash would the Cubs have won the '69 NL pennant?

Had J.R. Richard not had a stroke would it have given the Astors a dynasty during the 1980's?

If Al Rosen doesen't get hurt do the Indians put a dent in the Yankees 50's dynasty?

Basketball

----------

What if Len Bias doesen't overdose on coke the night after he's drafted?

What if the NBA chooses not to adopt the three point line?

What if Connie Hawkins never becomes involved in a point shaving scandal?

Football

--------

What if the Green Bay Packers suffer the same fate as the Akron Pros and are out of the NFL before 1930?

What if the NFL doesen't adopt the 1979 rule changes?

What if Joe Gilliam beats out Terry Bradshaw for the starting QB job in Pittsburgh?

Think all of these could have very easily happened and in some instances like the Packers being out of the NFL before 1930, and Gillam beating out Bradshaw they nearly did.

What if Niklas Lidstrom missed the redline shot that destroyed Dan Cloutiers career?

What if the Canucks never choked against Minnesota in 2003?

What if bertuzzi never attempted to kill Steve Moore?

What if the "Steve Bartman Ball" was a foot further into foul territory?

Would the Cubs have won the pennant?

Would the Cubs have won the world series?

Probably not.
