If he starts posting about football where every other word is just "football," remember, you read it here first. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
dbadefense1990
Angel's beat A's 4-3, but the win is being overshadowed by a strange obstruction call that took place in the top of the 9th inning. See here:http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24685856/as-playing-game-under-protest-following-controversial-obstruction-callYet another questionable umpiring interpretation of "lane obstruction." Looks like Aybar ran off the basepath for an intent of tackling Otero and Moss. But instead of an out for either being tagged or off the baseline, Aybar gets to 1st safely.I'm going to puke over these "lane obstruction" calls when (not if) they occur during the postseason. OK, it didn't really affect last night's game since Oakland got out of the inning alive, but imagine a series-deciding game being decided over something so judgmental and non-concrete. While, I guess in terms of the rule itself it is obstruction, however it should not have even come to that. After looking at it again, I don't buy Aybar's story of how he had nowhere to go, or that he didn't see anything. On the replay it shows Aybar with his head up pretty much out of the batter's box and he knew exactly what he was doing, and the Greg Gibson fell for hook line and sinker. Heads up play by Aybar, but horrible interpretation and judgement by the umpire(s).It didn't affect the game and it looks like the A's have dropped their protest. I'd suggest the MLB Rules Committee eview this one at some point, preferably soon, before a world series game ends on a call like this.
LMU
So, the Mariners, competing for a playoff spot, have benched Jesus Montero for the rest of the season. For an ice cream sandwich.Eric Wedge was right.

So benching him really has no effect on their playoff chances. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

The Mariners are an organization with a completely dysfunctional front office and they suspended a player for the year for throwing an ice cream sandwich of all things. It's not an indictment on their playoff positioning, but that they're pulling their usual crap again. It's like they can't handle success without going back to the crazy well. The Mariners are in a prime position for a playoff spot this season, and Montero has been nothing but a disappointment for them. It would only stand to reason that they'd take any excuse to deactivate him. Seriously, the first day working at my shop up there this summer a customer came in and asked where the toilet bowl rags were. I was confused at first, but without hesitation my boss pointed up to the Montero jerseys. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
