Might want to watch the Royals as much as you can if you really like them because in the next few years Gordon, Cain, Hosmer, Moustakas, Escobar, and Perez will leave for greener pastures and KC will have to start from scratch again. Here's hoping it doesn't take 20 years this time !

Oh and Holland, Davis, Herrera, and Ventura too.

Well, good thing we avoided the LDS "disasters" so we could watch this boring crap. What an absolutely AWFUL LCS this has been.

When is Tank's suspension up?

The suspension was given August 24th, so that means he'll be back Saturday.

(Damn, those two months went by fast)

I can't wait for his long awaited comeback post. It will most likely be about the Mets too.

Goddamn Cubs suck. All this team ever does is kick us in the balls. Stupid team, I hate them.

At least you have the Blackhawks. And MJ. And the Bears did good that one time 30 years ago. And you're not Cleveland.

Just once I want to see a slugfest of a WS. Just ONE damn time I want to see great pitching get rocked by great hitting.

Great pitching vs. fundamental and manufacturing runs- oh joy, a rerun. Again.

Instead of Donaldson and Joey Bats and Rizzo and Bryant, we get.... Alcides Escobar and Daniel Murphy.

I think you'd be hilarious in real life.

Big Mac again? Jesus McDonald's! Come up with something new!

Milk at Safeway! Dammit! We've had enough milk already. I wanted pretzel juice!

Augh! A goddamn yellow taxi again? For pete's sake, make them pink or blue or green!

What's with all this damn gravity? Would it kill someone to let me float off into the atmosphere for once? Gosh!

Well, it's not Mets vs. Royals yet, but I think we'll be there by tomorrow night. Seems like a good matchup... Royals with their small ball and the Mets with their own October magic. I'm remembering the 2002 World Series, and how it matched up the small ball Angels against the hard-hitting Giants. Maybe we'll get something similar. But like I said, it's not over yet. Both the Blue Jays and Cubs could win and slowly crawl back into the series, who knows.

The Royals are amazing. They're not that talented on offense. They really aren't! Alex Gordon is probably their best hitter and his OPS is hovering around .800. They don't have sluggers or even super-high average guys, but they just can't be killed. They'll single you to death, then come up with a clutch homer. Even though they're the Sox' division rival, I don't hate them the way I hate the Twins and Tigers (and previously the Indians) due to them being irrelevant for so long. They are incredible to watch. Heck, they're even getting big production from Alex freaking Rios in the playoffs, and he's been more-or-less and anchor around the neck of every team he's been on. It's fun to watch a team that's much better than the sum of its parts.

Uh, Kendry Morales is a pretty good hitter.

It's interesting how the Royals have Cardinal-like qualities, yet so many people cheered when St. Louis went down in flames and you didn't see that many people wanting KC to go down.

Morales is a journeyman and a scrap heap pick-up who put his career back together and is having a career year. Yeah, he's been pretty damn good this year, but he wouldn't be on anybody's list of the top 50 hitters in baseball. People thought the Royals would suffer this year losing Butler and Shields, but they're probably even better, somehow.

I think the Royals offense is much better then some people here are giving it credit for. There's six guys in that lineup who had an OPS over .800 for the year. Plus Alex Rios is a much better player then his numbers this year would indicate. Had he been healthy for the year, that number may have gone up to seven.

By comparison the Astros who were second in the AL in OPS only had three guys in the lineup with an OPS over .800, so if the Royals have an average lineup, I'd like to know who's good.

At the same time Blue Jay starting pitching just hasn't shown up this series, which is the main reason why they're down 3-1. You can't out slug a team with that many quality hitters in the lineup four times in a best of seven series. You need some other way of winning games besides that, which is why it was so important for them to get quality starts and thus far that hasn't happened and if that doesn't change the Blue Jays aren't going to be able to extend this series past six games.

For the Cubs, last night was a bowling shoe ugly game for them. It was going to be a tall order to take down Jacob deGrom with Kyle Hendricks on the mound. Even if the Cubs didn't have their defensive meltdowns I still think they would have lost, but the way they went down was one of the ugliest ways I've ever seen a team lose a playoff game. TBS was doing close ups of fans crying in the stands. I don't think a fan base can get beaten down much more then that.

I don't see how the Cubs can beat the Mets four straight. Aside from the four game losing streak they had to close out the season, the Mets haven't lost four straight since June and that was without half the guys in the lineup they have going now. But more importantly this series has shown to be the biggest mismatch starting pitching wise for of any of the series we've seen thus far. There's no way Chicago can win four straight with that continuing to hold true.

A Mets/Royals World Series right now seems almost like a given at this point.

Kyle Schwarber has a very punchable face.

"And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."
