That's what the bullpen is for. You don't see guys come in off the bench in the NBA and take ten warmup shots. Teams notorious for not keeping road bullpen mounds consistent with in-game mounds. Injuries happen. But their job is to throw the baseball. That is what they get paid for. Not to hit. Yes, they could've gotten injured fielding. But they didn't. They got injured doing something half the pitchers in the league don't have to do. I prefer NL baseball, despite being a fan of a an AL team for this reason. Baseball just feels more "natural", for lack of a better term, when there's no DH. I was a pitcher when I played baseball, and I loved hitting (partially because I was actually a fairly strong hitter, but that's neither here nor there).
