Well, we've figured out how to speed up baseball games: don't let anyone come to them! Ten runs scored in the game and they got out of there in just a touch over two hours. I had to check and make sure the Sox didn't get Mark Buehrle back. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
FiddySicks
The whole game had the feel of a high school game, and part of it was the pace. Instead of the usually long breaks they take in between homers or big hits, they just kept going. It felt really strange how quickly it went, and I think the initial string of runs in the first came from the Sox being a bit flustered due to that. DCarp1231
Gary Thorne, announcer for the Orioles, even used his golf voice when calling an Adam Jones double. He even said "he's well on his way to a green jacket". It would have been funny if he used it the whole game

Sport
I caught some of that Orioles game at lunch today. It reminded me of playing All-Star Baseball 2000 on N64 and using the No Crowd cheat.
daveindc
That's weird. Was Nationals Park not available? Or do they refuse to help each other out because of the MASN dispute?lol. If it were up to Peter Angelos, there would be no Nationals Park. Screw him.

leopard88
Whoever gets there early for the next home game is going to have a clearance sale on stray foul balls, though.http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=12787972&ex_cid=espnTW O's will probably be wearing home whites in Tampa, not sure why that'd be a question for an Orioles 'home' game. What's with the annoying music in the ESPN video? TheOldRoman
Do you think they had a worker on baseball patrol, going around picking up all the foul balls and homers? I mean, they couldn't just leave them around for someone to trip over at the next game.

Not to mention that they are not at home for some time now and they'll probably get rained on. cshookemHORNS
why the hell does chris davis still have that huge piece of tobacco in his under lip ? does he really want to lose his jaw and/or die I think the dipping is still pretty common, I feel like every game you see at least 2 or 3 players with a dip in. Alex Houston
I'll argue that there's just too much spitting in baseball. From the palettes of David's players mow down in a game, to the dip, to just psyching up for big hits, it's almost like we need spittoons everywhere players walk. "And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."

Effects include increased heart rate, an increase in systolic blood pressure, and an increase in adrenaline.[2]Long-term effects[edit]Dipping tobacco is believed to cause fatal oral cancers, tooth and gum loss, in some cases relatively soon after first use (years rather than decades). Associated cancers include: tongue cancer, lip cancer, cheek cancer, gum cancer, throat cancer, and cancer in the roof and floor of the mouth..yeah, sounds fun, how about they ban this crap in MLB ! The_Admiral
No, he's right. It's already banned from Triple-A on down for very good reasons. Why not ban it at the major-league level? Kudos to the Giants for end-running the MLBPA's cowardly capitulation to "personal choice" over the health of its members. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
FiddySicks
They've already pushed VERY hard to ban chewing tobacco in the big leagues. It's been shot down more than once. Look, we all know the risks involved, and I'm sure Chris Davis does, too. But there's still at least SOME leeway for personal choice.
