The Royals with all their bench clearing incidents are reminding me a lot of the '86 Mets who seemed to have a fight a week too.

If they're anything like the '86 Mets, then expect a celebration in Kansas City come November.

REALLY curious to see how much of that contract the Angels are willing to swallow. Also, how much Texas is willing to take on.

I have a feeling the Angels will be covering a BIG chunk of what's left, but they may pull a decent prospect or two out of it in return. Maybe they don't have enough leverage to do that, though.

BUT, the Rangers DO have a young second baseman the Angels could snag who's already won a championship and who has probably rushed for more yards than any active MLB player. ;)

Jeff Passan reports that TEX will only pay $15 million of the $80+ million remaining.

Apparently Moreno wants to wash his hands of Hamilton, no matter what it takes or what it will cost....probably a mid-range prospect or two and one of those new trade assets, like a pick or that International bonus pool stuff.

From what I've read, the Angels are getting somewhere around $15 million in return, meaning Arte Moreno is going to pay $68 million dollars to simply get rid of Josh Hamilton.

I'm glad to see Hamilton go, honestly, but that's a lot of money to simply eat and get nothing in return.

They're also essentially paying Josh Hamilton to bat against them 20 or so times a year. They don't care if it means he's gone.

I'm not sure if there's ever been team this desperate to get rid of somebody since the Cubs traded Rafael Palmeiro.

Even with the Yankees and Arod. End of the day the Yankees would still prefer him on the team then not.

Hamilton belongs in Texas the atmosphere is mre helpuful for his addiction problems

How is it "mre" helpful when he is leaving his wife because he filed for divorce and he cannot have cash in his pocket?

Johnny Narron, his Texas "Accountability Partner" before his father-in-law took over for the final Texas season and the first LAA season is not around, so a team must hire him too?

Adam Wainwright blows out his Achilles after hitting a routine grounder. Done for the year.

In the meantime, "The Best Fans in Baseball" immediately call for the National League to adopt the DH.

Boy I sure am glad that the White Sox game yesterday I had ridden all the way from West Virginia to see got cancelled in advance thanks to rain! I would hate for my self and all those players to be out in the pouring rain like that in the afternoon!

West Virginia? People usually don't even ride in from Tinley Park.
