Whoever comes out of this series is going to get dumptrucked by the Stars/Blues winner, so it really doesn't even matter.

Dallas plays no D, Blues will blow it.

Rinne is DIALED IN. Never bet against Laviolette if he gets past the second round.

Let's hope the Sharks can keep up this whole "best team on the road" schtick.

 Nope.

Cool, so then they can be the ones to get their teeth kicked in by Pittsburgh.

I said Pens-Preds final the minute they scored.

Nashville got the break of a lifetime on the Pavelski no-goal call.

Trust me, I don't like the Preds, but when Anaheim blew 2 shots to put them away.... teams like that are gonna hang around and hang around.

I seriously don't understand why every single year there are all these dopes out there who act like a team capitalizing on the Sharts yearly collapse is really going to "propel them to the Stanley Cup". It's happened twice in the bajillion Sharks collapses. This team has blown more 2-0 leads than Monica Lewinski has blown politicians. The sample size is like 2-75.

I hope I'm wrong about the Sharks, but this feels like Edmonton '06- down 0-2, somehow survive with a hot goalie, an other worldlu defenseman, a bunch of pluggers scoring goals, and in insane atmosphere.

Lowest-seeded team left in the playoffs by far.

It's fascinating the contrast between how we view the NHL top seeds.

Dallas doesn't have that same pressure to win the Cup right now that Washington does

You don't feel like a 2nd round exit for the Stars would be as big a letdown as the Caps

Since I'm an old prick, I was starting to fall asleep by the second overtime, so I was pretty disappointed to see my efforts to watch it all the way through weren't rewarded. Alas, it really should be 3-1 in favor of San Jose, but this is how it goes in sports. Calls don't go your way and you have to find a way to win. A small consolation is Dallas pulling off their victory, so they have to go at least six as well.

And honestly Sabres, this whole "San Jose won't come back" narrative is as played out as your generic responses to disliking everything. I was with you when you made the point about not wanting LA or Chicago to win again, that I understood. But now you're just being a polly-pissypants about each result. Let it be.

Good to see Morgo keep Morgo-ing. Quite a good example of pot-kettle-black from a fan of a team who also, conveniently, never wins big ones. But oh hey, they got to the Finals twice or thrice or whatever, so I guess that makes them marginally better.

Anyways, should they lose tomorrow - and there's a decent chance they could - then sure, they've choked it up again and will join Ovi on the links next week. However, I'd just like to point out that the Kings won as an #8 seed and needed to win three Game 7's on the road one time. Not to mention that the other successful team in this era had to come back from multiple deficits to win one of their titles.

Point is, there aren't any textbook roads to Rome. All that matters is that you get there.

MOD EDIT

But yes it was a good series and it's sad that one of those teams had to be eliminated. The current playoff structure is a joke.

Nashville. Just. Won't. Die.

There is NO WAY the Sharks recover from this.

Seriously, as far as I'm concerned, Nashville's won this series.

Okay, I'll hold you to it then. :P

Why should it be 3-1 San Jose?  The "goal" was disallowed due to the blatant interference...

Yup. Pretty sure I remember you slamming fellow Nucks fans after '11, but whatever. This is the smaller point.

Blatant? Okay. Rinne moves outside of the crease, while Pavelski gets shoved in the back by Gaustad. He then gets tripped, yet still scores, but you think this is blatant? Pavelski doesn't initiate the contact with Rinne, who was half out of the crease on the initial shot anyways. At the very least, even if you argue it's incidental, the Sharks should've gotten a power play because of it.

The thing that really bugs me more about this is how they didn't want to call the shove or the trip, but yet called the interference. They say they don't want the refs deciding the game, yet that's ultimately what happened. Also, if I remember correctly, the original signal on the ice was a hand pass, which was also incorrect. So yea, I got a bone or two to pick with the "blatant" interference Pavelski did.

Alas, the Sharks also missed like four wraparounds, so they had chances for redemption. Sucks but that's life.
