DG_ThenNowForever
I think we already have an NBA thread? Thunder will be lucky to make the playoffs. Warriors are the obvious favorite until someone gets injured. Curry has a bum ankle and Durant a bum foot, so anything is possible. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

Unocal
I don't think we're gonna get a rubber match of GS-CLE. We've had a lot of rematches before, but never three consecutive Finals between the same teams. Someone always crashed the party along the way. The 1986 Rockets got in the way of Lakers-Celtics. The 1964 and 1967 Warriors interrupted a stretch of Lakers-Celtics in the 60s. The 1996 Seattle SuperSonics in the Western Conference Finals prevented three straight Chicago-Utah Finals. You have to go all the way back to Canadiens-Red Wings in 1954-1955-1956 to find the same championship rematch in three straight years in one of the major sports leagues. I feel Toronto upsets Cleveland somehow and makes the Finals & wins it all, kinda like 2011 Mavs did in the year LeBron joined South Beach. DG_ThenNowForever
While he had a rough game tonight (6-21, 12 pts, 0 ast), but I think D'Angelo Russell will take The Leap this year. He's playing with a lot more confidence this year, has a coach who believes in him, and isn't in Kobe's shadow anymore. The Lakers have a great young core, and they may be ready sooner than people think. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Rockstar Matt
It definitely helps to have a coach that he enjoys being around. Luke is already a much better coach than Byron in the coach-player relationship department. I'm excited for the future Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

All the assistants Luke has brought in fit in well with what he wants to do, and I hope it works for him in the long run. I think it will take a while for the team to grow & to adapt to the play style he likes to run, but they do have some very nice pieces. I honestly think the West team with the most bright future right now is Denver. They have a great mix of young guys & vets, Mudiay looks like he has found a shot & that Jokic/Nurkic frontcourt scares the crap out of me. Not to mention Danillo Gallinari, who IMO is a fringe All Star candidate if he can stay healthy. In addition, Jamal Murray looks like the real deal and is my fave to win Rookie of the Year right now. dfwabel
Joe Lacob still shooting his mouth of as if his team didn't blow a 3-1 lead in The Finals. In regards to signing Durant, Quote “I know there are a lot of other owners and teams that are mad at us, at me. I felt that very much when I was in Las Vegas this summer. Sorry, we got him. We worked hard until we got him.” http://www.csnbayarea.com/node/141596
DG_ThenNowForever
If the NBA does expand to Seattle (and Vegas?), it would allow New Orleans, Memphis or Minnesota to mercifully move to the East. That'd be a good deal for everyone. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

DG_ThenNowForever
NBA seems like a better fit for Vegas, but here we are. However, people need to do better than this: 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Wings
Besides Seattle (obvious choice) & Las Vegas (maybe?) the cbssports.com article also mentions Louisville, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, St. Louis, Omaha, Kansas City, Mexico City and surprisingly a second team in Chicago. I could see one of these cities being a viable option as I think the state of Missouri can support at least one NBA franchise. People in Kansas City wouldn't have to travel out of state to see Thunder games and I don't think St. Louisans would want to support a Chicago team. No viable owner and the Sprint Center is already a very profitable arena without a NBA or NHL team taking up 41+ dates.
dfwabel
Blues own Scottrade Center and it 22 years old, so if there is expansion, it will be 25 years old by the time a team hits the court. Louisville still has the university controlling the master lease for the YUM! Center with an option to buy it.

Earl, Jr. has a track record of not being the best with his money. http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york/knicks/post/_/id/19565/the-knicks-summer-spending Speaking of $$$, Portland has the third highest payroll in the league, man. For the fourth best team in the conference. Shades of the 1998-2001 era team in terms of cash. And it gets crazy high over in '18 and '19.
