2022 NFL regular season through Super Bowl LVII

Recommended Posts

If it’s a question of are the Niners really that good or are the Bucs just that bad, it’s absolutely that the Bucs are just that bad. This is one of the worst football teams I’ve ever seen, and are BY FAR my least favorite Bucs team since I’ve been a fan. Whole squad has completely quit.

If Bowles and Leftwich are back next season, I don’t think I will be.

If Nothing else, Brady is certainly gone.

He's either retiring, or joining the Raiders.

The way he’s played this season, why would they even want him? He’s been awful, and Carr is a better choice at this point IMO.

I was going to argue for the Niners being that good. Then I remembered the Bucs lost to the Browns.

I think Brady can still be good with the right team. The Bucs are just so bad he can't salvage them.

Brady + Davante Adams + McDaniel's  would be an instant improvement.

Brady apparently already had plans to join the Raiders, but Gruden squashed it because he's petty over something that happened 20 years ago.

No sir, I do not remember those teams. Hell, I wasn't even alive for some of those teams. I was too young. Earliest memory I have of the Niners is the last years of the Steve Young and Garrison Hearst teams. I was born in the early 90's so my first NFL season I can truly remember in earnest was the '97 season (though I have vague memories of Super Bowl 31).

I have never known a NFL with the Cowboys and 49ers both being among the NFC favorites.

Ah, the YoungGunz generation. Well just take my word for it, they've done this before.

And weren't SF and Dallas and among the NFC faves just last year? 🤷‍♂️

There is no way I'd take current Tom Brady over Derek Carr. Pretty sure the Raiders won't either.

Well regardless, I don't see the Raiders sticking with Carr.

How many chances has that guy gotten to prove he's a great QB?

They were kinda, but not like this year. Last year had 6 teams all with legitimate contender status (Packers, Bucs, Cowboys, Rams, Cardinals and to a lesser extant the 49ers (I do distinctly remember them being undervalued all year). This year it's clearly just the Eagles, Cowboys and Niners who are the contenders.

Maybe I should have worded my original statement differently saying I've never known a NFL with Dallas and San Francisco as favorites until these past two seasons.

Erm, the Vikings (today's loss notwithstanding)?

Worse Josh McDaniels loss:

Losing to at home to ESPN's Jeff Saturday in his first ever game?

-or-

Losing to Baker Mayfield 48 hours after joining a 3-9 team?

Yes.

Josh McDaniels' only win in this situation: the fact that Mark Davis can't afford to fire him yet.

I do not buy into the Vikings at all. I doubt they win a playoff game, and if they do, they'd likely face San Francisco or Dallas in the next round where they'd be underdogs (even if they're hosting that divisional game). They're 10-3 with a negative point differential and a point differential that you'd see from a middling .500 team. I don't think anyone takes them serious as a contender especially now after they've played the two best teams in the conference and were out scored by a combined 64-10.

The schedule favors the Chiefs to be the Number 1 seed by the time the dust settles (Bills go to Cincinnati to play the Bengals while the Chiefs finish the year against the Texans, Seahawks, Broncos and Raiders), however, they certainly aren't playing like one right now. Bills and Bengals look to be the better teams in the AFC  at the moment.

Chiefs have had a soft schedule and struggled against the better teams they've played.

I think they'll backdoor themselves into the 1 seed, but I agree Buffalo and Cincinnati are the better teams. The Bills have probably played the toughest schedule this year, considering they lost a home game.

The Vikings were underdogs to the 5-7 Lions today. Kinda tells us all we need to know about that team.

Fair enough, so other than the draft, where do they find someone better? Keep in mind that Brady is closer to my age than he is to Derek Carr's age. I don't see him as a viable option for the Raiders.

I feel like Brady is always going to be an option for teams as long as he plays, just because of his reputation.  People thought he was washed in 2019 with the Patriots, then wins Super Bowl MVP the very next year.

As for other options for the Raiders, they should end up with a decent draft pick if they want to go that route. Baker & Garoppolo may be available as well. There are rumors Love  wants to be traded (Though I doubt the Packers entertain that). Brissett could be option too.

Mike White got rocked in the ribs twice today, exiting the games both times and had to leave the stadium post-game in an ambulance. Either White is stupid, the Jets medical staff is stupid for allowing him to go back in twice, or the NFL just doesn’t care for player safety.

I’m willing to bet it’s the latter.

Reputation doesn't win games. Take it from someone who's been there, you age quite a bit between age 40 and 45. Brady may not be done, but he's not TOM BRADY any more. And he's certainly not worth whatever the Raiders would have to pay to get him. I could be wrong, but I don't see Brady playing for league minimum just to keep playing. Add that to the fact that the Raiders are already buried under bad contracts and it's pretty clear that Brady's not a serious option.

Are you seriously saying Baker Mayfield is a better option than Derek Carr? Again, take it from someone who's been there, Baker is just as likely to go 11-35 with 3 INTS next week as he is to recreate what he did Thursday night. Jimmy G is a lateral move at very best. Jacoby Brissett is a good option...as a back up.
