Makes sense since Sam Boyd stadium appears to be unavailable.

Liga MX match called off due to cartel violence.

Not just that, but by UNLV playing at Allegiant, Sam Boyd has to have approval of the Raiders to host any events there outside UNLV non-football sports.

Getting hired and fired in 24 hours based on decade-old choices: not a uniquely American phenomenon! (Grande tweeted support for the guy who tried to assassinate the PQ leader and generally was outspoken against Quebec separatists back in the day, and was also famously caught on camera choking his own teammate in Impact's 2nd divison days.)

MLS announcing broadcast teams for Apple TV now

https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/apple-and-major-league-soccer-unveil-broadcasters-for-mls-season-pass-x1835

It's kinda cringy that some of these guys keep talking about what Apple products they have or have used. Just talk about the job!

FWIW, The Soccer Tournament either had a test game recently, or will have a test game some time soon.

Gerard Pique had his 7v7 tournament kick off last weekend. As long as we don't see this kind of stupidity I'm cool with it. He said this guy was under contract, but apparently that's not the case based on how he played.

Two stadium name changes in three days.

Tuesday PNC Stadium in Houston has been renamed Shell Energy Stadium. Today, Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles has been renamed BMO Stadium.

Centene Stadium in St. Louis changed to CITYPARK 8 months after Centene acquired the naming rights  and 4 months before St. Louis City SC even plays their first game in MLS.

A stadium in Los Angeles changing its name from Banc of California to Bank of Montreal

Well that makes sense...

I've never seen a BMO in California and I've live here my entire life

The only BMO presence that I’ve run across in California is their ATM machines... and that's a fairly recent phenomena. I've seen them in chain pharmacies and supermarkets here in Santa Monica.

That's going to change now that BMO Financial Group has received regulatory approval to acquire Bank of the West from BNP Paribas and merge said financial institution with U.S.-based BMO Harris Bank. The reason for BMO snatching up the naming rights to the former Banc of California Stadium is undoubtedly linked to promoting the BMO Harris brand in California prior to the merger with - and rebranding of - the Bank of the West assets in the Golden State.

SBNation/Vox apparently is dropping all or most of its soccer blogs. All of the MLS blogs are currently looking for somewhere new to set up shop due to Vox cutting them loose.

Vox also cut nearly all of their SBHockey blogs too, except for six. I've honestly forgotten that SBNation was a thing.
