NFL 2023 Changes

Someone pointed out that the player in the Seahawks reveal video, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, was born in 2002 therefore having absolutely zero recollection of the 90s on top of not even seeing the uniforms these are based on in action.

To be fair though, a third or more of rosters are players likely born after 2000. Can’t fault them.

That’s the difference in lighting and photographic medium (135mm film vs digital).

I think it's the fabric.  The Eagles throwback also looks way more vibrant than it ever did when it was dull mesh.  I think people have twisted memories that it was a bright kelly green, when in reality, the material made it look darker (though the numbers on the white jersey were brighter and closer to what we'd call "kelly".)

Are we on pace for the most returning throwback uniforms we’ve seen since the 50th AFL anniversary in 2010?

It would’ve been perfect for NFL 100 a couple years back. The league screwed the pooch on that one.

The Commanders 😃

All joking aside I fully expect them to have one next year using that all leather looking helmet wrap they used to have with the Darker Burgundy uniform sans the Native American patches on the shoulders.

The already sell the jersey:

This isn't the worst the Colts could have done here, but it's a long way down the road from good. You can see the push-and-pull of consultants and the front office dithering over whether or not to really bring in black as a full alternate Identity. So you get a black helmet, but no black anywhere except the number trim on the jersey, pants, or socks.

I don't know what making the blue heathered accomplishes outside of making the helmet match the rest of the uniform even less, and maybe getting a rise from people who really miss Converse's Kentucky basketball uniforms.

Colts take the cake for the absolute most pointless, because-we-can, because we want to make a social media unveil video, uniforms released by any team ever.

Are these horrible? No.

Are they better than if they did an all-black uniform? Absolutely.

Do they make any amount of sense or are the slightest bit necessary to enhance their wardrobe? Absolutely not.
