The team is on one of the greatest runs in sports history and you want to see it come to an end because of pants?! I know what site we are on and complaints are valid but at the end of the day we're all here because we love sports. Who cares what they wear right now because this season is crazy. I want to see the Lions get to the Super Bowl and win. It's not my team, so yes. I 100% want the best dressed team to win, unless it's a team I hate. bowld
Ravens rocking Purple over Black again this weekend. Have to assume this would be the Super Bowl combo as well should they win

Now if only the Lions wear blue pants on Sunday I'll be happy...

SportsFan12
Chiefs Ravens should look good. Those teams will have given us a completely different uniform pairing for six straight matchups after Sunday's game:

It's sad that the NFL will allow a team to wear pants that look like they were bought off the discount rack at Dick's Sporting Goods. NFL can't dictate pant selection to teams. The times when the NFL granted dispensation for a different uniform is when there was a jersey change. It's not a dictatorship. Lions are 4-1 in the all whites. It's the same reason the Niners wore throwbacks in the 94 playoffs.
fouhy12
Baltimore's 2012 Super Bowl run came with the black pants as well. If they win it all this year, I'm guessing these just become the playoff pants full time. 2 Quote fouhy12's NFL Concepts 2020

I know, but I wish they could put limits on it, like only wearing discounted clearance pants from Dick's Sporting Goods for 2 games max per year. Maybe Goodell could send one of his goons to have a "talk" with the Lions' equipment manager: "You know, it'd be a shaaaaame if something were to happen to that pile of white pants." 1

The NFL probably could set a standard for pants in the offseason, but it's too late for this postseason. But they also have to enforce it, and I don't have much hope for that based on the random socks we see every week. It could be a simple rule, though: all uniform elements must be approved by the NFL prior to the season. They already require the jerseys to be submitted by the end of July, so they could just expand that rule to the rest of the uniform.

SportsFan12
We all knew Detroit would do this, yet seeing the official confirmation still irritates me. Hopefully next season when they play at San Fran they wear blue pants, although that may require a loss this weekend. A Super Bowl with Detroit in white/white against Baltimore in purple/black would look so odd. Sounds more like a Week 9 1pm game.

The other flaunts their lack of history and tradition in everyone's face. I know they haven't made the playoffs, much less have success in them in forever, but this is embarrassing. This is not a serious franchise. Go Niners.
PurpleHayes
I really hate this 'icy white' nonsense. It's like the NFL is trying to appeal to people in 5th grade only. If the Lions had any sense of history (which they don't, since the current players probably don't even know the NFL existed before Twitter) they would at least wear the silver pants so there's some connection to their 1957 playoff win over the 49ers, where they overcame a 27-7 halftime deficit on their way to the NFL title with a backup QB: 2

Having a sense of history would only bring revulsion and self-loathing. Part of what Dan Campbell and his team have done is erase a lot of that history. They've won a lot of big games in the all whites, starting with the one in Green Bay at the end of 2022 which really kicked their present run into high gear. If they win on Sunday, I promise the all-whites will become a classic that people will clamor for in 20 years.
