I almost agree. Maybe the Royals could use theirs for an alt but that's about it.

 

I think a couple of them had some visual appeal...the Cubs one looked nice to me but "Wrigleyville" should not be on a jersey. Would be a nice enough t-shirt for the pro shop. A few more nice pro-shop shirts.

 

(I've also never understood the nearly universal love for the Miami jersey. And nearly as much love for the Angels, which I think is absolute garbage. To each their own...)

Tampa’s is better than their current look. The Angels is as well. CWS is great and well loved. Brewers looks great and is a great alt. San Diego’s is a great alt as well - you probably see almost an equal amount of the CC and regular look at the ballpark.

1. 5,280’ is so overplayed. It’s not even that high above sea level compared to where lots of teams across the world play, and where way more people than are in Denver live. 
 

2. Marlins should absolutely be the basis for a new look. White Sox too, just get rid of the dumb pattern and make it say either Chicago, White Sox, or just the Sox logo. 
 

3. Saw basically every team’s jersey represented in London for the Mets/Phillies series. The wording/patches on the TB one don’t stand out nearly as much as I thought, and the hat looked way duller than I was expecting. There’s something there, for sure, but they need to lean harder into the “glow” of it all. And the “faded in the sun” pattern is ridiculous.

The D-backs and Nationals are probably the only ones I'd like to see stay, even if they come out with different versions/color bases for them. I think the Astros could really find a way to use theirs as a basis for a new alternate, maybe swap out "Space City" for something else. There were other CCs that were at least interesting to see maybe once, but I do think that a majority of these don't really need to be preserved.

I caught a clip of a podcast where A.J. Pierzynski said Brooks Boyer, "in his infinite wisdom," pitched all-black road uniforms years ago, Konerko polled the clubhouse, and they all said hell no to wearing all black in Kansas City in July.

What is it about that one you don’t like?

For me personally, that’s are a lot of wins with that look mixed in with a decent amount of misses. The reverse home look is good, but I can’t imagine the players really love playing July/August day games in them (I have no idea what their schedule is for that, so if they only wear them for, like, night games or whatever then forgive me). 
 

But I HATE the “SouthSide” nickname on them. I get that it’s a nickname, but that kind of stuff just looks so out of place in a sport as traditional as baseball. I usually try not to do the whole “purist” kind of thing with baseball, because times change and people need to better roll with that. But, for whatever reason, this whole thing just doesn’t sit right with me. It’s triggering something within the deep recesses of my brain that makes me wanna say out loud “this is wrong”. 
 

I said it a few days ago, that this type of program is easier to roll with in a sport like basketball. It’s more “modern” of a sport, and had a history of these out there kinda looks. Doing the same with baseball just kinda feels like flying in the face of one of the things that people do genuinely like about MLB level baseball. 
 

Just IMO. I know not everyone is going to agree, and their points are just as valid as mine. I’m actually sort of surprised by the visceral reaction I’m having to these. 
 

@OnWis97 basically typed out how I feel about these. Also with him on that Angels set. No idea why anyone likes that more than their regular set. The regular set has issues, but my goodness does that Angels CC suck out loud. My very best friend is an Angels fan (posts here occasionally, too), and he HATES them.

I guess I don’t mind the Southside nickname on them, because baseball is filled with nicknames on the front of jerseys. That’s kinda how team names started. Media called baseball teams something, and once it stuck, teams started wearing that on their uniforms. White Sox is definitely one of those nicknames too. 
 

Wrigleyville is honestly more out there for me. But the Sox have been known as the South Siders for a long time.

Too bad the A's were not part of year 1. They'd be long done wearing it. But for those interested (which isn't a ton of fans), it's an amusing PR gaffe of sorts...the A's cannot do a city connect because they're connected to either zero or three cities at this time. 

 

And at this stage, I think the Yankees may as well participate. They have an ad for an insurance company on their sleeves. Do they really need to cling to tradition?

My synopsis:

 

The Lou notwithstanding (because that on its own really fits within the already established Cardinals aesthetic), two of these could serve as the basis for a full-on rebrand. Remove the giant IATA script, draft out new scripts that spell out the city name and nickname and that Guardians set (minus the sublimation) would be good to go tomorrow. Use some more of the actual colors (that is, make the jersey or scripts/numbers—or both) an actual color, lose the flame tips on the glyphs, and that Rays set would instantly be better than their current or inaugural looks. The only other one of those I find myself liking as a perma-alt if it were to ever happen would be the Brew Crew set. (Though I suppose the Seripientes one isn't bad on its own.)

Tell that to the WNBA team that uses/calls it that.  (I'm also honestly surprised the Yankees are even letting him get away with that since they still won't even allow facial hair...unless they all are cross-promoting the Liberty or something, I don't know.)
