No nameplate for the kings??

Yes, their previous sweaters also didn't have nameplates and with few exception they are nameplateless team since first day.

Except Kings also Red Wings is a team without nameplates. Coyotes also didn't have them and it seems like Utah keep that too.

I like Kings unis, they finally updated hem on home sweater which is automatically an upgrade.

I agree with everyone's thoughts on black breezers on the home. That being said, after seeing these pictures, the black hem stripe does a decent job of breaking up the orange. The orange shoulders on the roads have kind of grown on me too.

This. Too many would have been quacking (that's a joke) about being too much like the Flyers if they had gone with black breezers at home.

Yeah, I’m not really a fan of these head to toe bright color looks teams have been putting out lately. My own team did the same thing and it’s just too much for my personal sensibilities. But I do understand the thought process and it’s better than just adding black for no reason like some teams have done. Just not really my personal thing, I guess.

I LOVE the updates to the logos, though. Both the mask and the webbed foot D look very crisp. I also love that they’re now using the Webbed foot D as the shoulder logo, as that’s what it should’ve been using as an alt the entire time. The Sharks updated their fin logo and it’s fantastic, but they kept the garbage PikaShark without making any tweaks to it, which still annoys me. But m glad the Ducks decided to clean up the Mask duck logo, and it looks genuinely great.

That wordmark/number font is an absolute disaster, though. Like, woof that’s bad. The last font had its issues, but was head and shoulders above this improperly beveled mess.

Overall, I like this look. They went back to the stronger logo, but kept the better colors.  I’ll give it a B to a B+

Kings look fine. It’s basically what the New York Jets just did with reviving an old set. Not necessarily a bad thing (in fact, probably the best they’ve looked in ages) but not really enough new with it to even evaluate it much further than that. It’s the Kings, and nothing they ever do isn’t going to be flat out narcoleptic to me.

why on earth do the jersey still have the curved bottom??

supposed to be  a  hem stripe, not a smiley face!! Looks so stupid.....

just why?

When the Fanatics deal was announced in March, they said that major jersey changes or redesigns likely wouldn’t happen until the 2026-27 season, “when different fabric options and player safety innovations like protection against skate lacerations might be introduced.”

I don't know why people were expecting major template changes so soon; that was never going to be the case.

I will credit them though for doubling down on the orange, though, and making it their "thing" (which makes sense, playing in Orange County). That said, numbers should be black-base on the white sweaters for legibility's sake (and i echo the need, or at least the option, for black breezers on the home sets). But that's where I stand on this for now.

Right right,  the place where you play, got it........

OR you could use the colors of the animal your team actually is named after.......

Mighty Big News: Anaheim Ducks Reveal New Logos & Uniforms, a Mix of Modern and Retro

Quote

The two crossed hockey sticks return as well, in orange and with new bevelling applied and each blade flat on the ice instead of angled up. The white tape on the blades of each stick have also been updated slightly, maintaining the “W” design on each.

Wait… what “W” design?

“The stick tape in the original logo had ‘WW’ for Wild Wing, our mascot,” Tully revealed, blowing my mind while simultaneously raising my eyebrow skeptically. “We wanted to preserve it for the core fans who know about it. We thought, even though it’s not an Easter egg that many people know about, it was something we wanted to keep for the fans who do know.”

🤔

I guess that puts the Walt rumors to rest...

Now that it's "real", here are my thoughts on the Ducks:

1. Give me black pants at home, please. I can live with orange on the road, but it just feels unbalanced at home.

2. I don't like the orange yoke on the road.

3. Webbed D along with updated Mighty Duck feels mismatched. It's shades of when the Pens went back to the skating penguin but kept the robo on the shoulders. Granted, in both cases, when you see them on the jersey as opposed to side by side, the mismatch isn't as bad.

EDIT: If the league will own the Coyotes name, then I don't see why Utah can't pick it up. After all they've gone through so far, I really doubt they'd do it, and I'm willing to bet they would have had no intentions of keeping the Coyotes name even if it was an original option. But, they could.
