Is it that they can't "keep up", or that the game isn't played to win, and managerial decisions are based on factors that have nothing to do with winning and losing?

Also, given that each team has to have a rep, it's not like either side is a true all-star team.

Sounded like that episode of Bob's Burgers with the piano singer who's meant to be a Fiona Apple/Tori Amos parody.

Carl Lewis has to be in the conversation.

I need Carl Lewis's "UH OH!" dubbed into every pause she takes or every mistake she makes (I'll be watching her)

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Good heavens I need to hang a big L on a post of mine discussing the A's. They full on went to a week at home and a week on the road to mesh with the Sacramento minor league schedule. I NEVER thought it would come to that - it's a travel disparity in their favor.

It's where I sit.

I just checked the Royals schedule for next year and it looks to be the same, alternating between a week at home then a week away, with the exception of a Cardinals series.

Perhaps it's a league wide thing now?

Are they always out on a Monday through Sunday, or home Monday through Sunday?

Its very possible that the Rivercats schedule was done before the A's decided on Sacramento.  I would see if this trend continues in 2026 before giving judgement.  The A's are the secondary tenant.

Looks to me like every schedule graphic I've found for 2025 has teams skewing more toward a two-at-a-time, roughly week long home/away cycle, not just the Athletics? I guess it's always been close to this anyway, but IDK, seems like slightly less variance overall in terms of homestand/road trip lengths for everyone.

Good catch, I didnt even realize that the Rays schedule looked like that.  Other than a 3 team home stand in mid April and a one team homestand at the end of April into May its pretty much two home, two away.
