CrackTheSky Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 I started a thread with this info but thought I'd add it to this thread for the heck of it.I have read several posts saying how they don't like the Carolina Panthers logo but the designers were smart and included an interesting element in their design. If you look closely at their logo and then examine a map of the United States you will notice that the Panthers logo is in the shape of North and South Carolina combined. This allows both states to rightfully support the team and it doubles the teams fan base even though they actually reside in Charlotte North Carolina. I'm old school but I hated the Bruce Bocco. Eagles - Like the eagle head. Bears - A classic. Menacing bear. Broncos - I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. Patriots - Simple and clean. Redskins - Like the Bears, classic. I don't care about PC. Steelers - Love the logo. It's a statement. They don't care if they look pretty. They just want to kill you on the field. Packers - A classic of all time. Cardinals - I like the new logo. I'm glad they didn't go overboard. Logos I don't like in no particular order...Jaguars - It screams Tigger. Chargers - Add the shield and I'll like it.Titans - Too loud. It ain't NASCAR.Chiefs - The arrowhead seriously needed to be upgraded, a la Cardinals logo. Bengals - What's with the B logo? Fans in Cincinnati can't spell? Bills- Logo just never appealed to me. Lions - Black outline didn't help. More details in the lion and it'll be big improvement. Browns - Sick of seeing their helmet as a primary logo on TV and in publications. Use the bulldog! Vikings - Time for a upgrade. Texans (yes, I'm a homer, but I'm also a graphic designer and the logo is just near perfect. Simple, striking and abstract. The logo will never look dated.)2. Buccaneers (Great concept)3. Cardinals (Great update, hate the uniforms but love the logo)4. Bills (Again, hate the uniforms but I've always liked the logo)5. LionsIt's interesting for me to look at this list in 2005. Out of my Top-7, the Falcons and Cardinals would have been near the bottom, were it not for their updates. The sad thing is, while many teams have revamped their logos, most have bombed when it came to new uniform designs. Out of my bottom-5, I really think that while it would be a tradition-breaker to change any of these, that each of these teams has the potential to have a dynamite new look.
