TFoA
2000 NFL Playoffs...Az-Hakim's fumbled punt recovered by David Milne to give Saints first playoff win in team history. I remember that game vividly, because I was there. Now you may be wondering, what was a diehard Falcons fan like myself doing there. Someone gave me and my uncle tickets to the game because they figured the Saints were going to lose. My Uncle's a hardcore Saints fan, so he was going to go, and that would be the first NFL game I'd go to. When the Saints won, that was probably the loudest I've ever heard that place.I'm gonna miss it.
CC97
--Carmelo Anthony leading the Orange over Kansas to give Jimmy Boeheim his first title in '03. This would be my favourite memory... the orangemen finally pulling through. Shut up.Feaking Nick Collison not being able to hit a free throw. Vintiari hitting that field goal was so freaking awesome. My favorite Super Bowl moment. Cujo
As a huge Joe Montana fan, and Bronco hater as a kid, I'd have to say Super Bowl XXIV. It was Montana's fourth and final Super Bowl as the 49ers destroyed the Broncos 55-10. I loved every minute of that game.

DrBear
One has to wonder what would have happened had the NCAA not tried to hold the Final Four at the Superdome and stuck to traditional arenas. The NCAA originally had planned to set up the dome as it was set up for Jazz games, with a top capacity of about 30,000 and no seating on the far side of the field. After requests, it finally decided to sell those seats - carefully noting they were "distant view" - and ended up with 67,000. After that, there was no stopping the domes from getting the FF, and now they aren't held anywhere else.
VitaminD
Being an IU grad, I gotta go with Keith Smart's shot in '87, also. Being a UNC alum, give me Jordan's jumper in '82 and Webber's TO in '93. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
saturn93
Being in the Chicago area...definitely Super Bowl XX with the Bears over the Patriots 46-10.
tp49
Being an Alabama alum it has to be the '93 National Championship win against Miami.Non-sports related in 1999 I went to take a tour of the Superdome and was at the box office when tickets for some of the premier events for Jazzfest went on sale. I was able to get tickets to see Fats Domino and Ray Charles as soon as they went on sale after the person at the window said great seats were available for both shows better get them now if you want them. The tour was interesting too.
pcgd
I'm going to have to say the only game I attended there. The 2001 Sugar Bowl. That whole weekend was one I won't soon forget. Even though Illinois lost...bad, it was still cool to see a huge arena like that filled with 4/5 Purple and a small 1/5 orange. If I never hear "Tiger Bait" again I'll be happy though
FiddySicks
Suprisingly my favorite memory went against my team. The year the Bucs went on to win the Super Bowl they played the Saints in one of the last games of the year. They came into it as favorites but the Saints, wearing the throwback unis and all beat them and nailed the coffin shut on a fantastic drive by former Saints QB Jake Delhomme. Of course i hated that the Bucs lost but the thing i loved was that even though they were going to miss out on the playoffs once again, the stadium was packed and the fans were dancing around and cheering like ive never seen. Thats what made it so memorable, that the fans really do love their team and appreciate the fact that they are there. Thats why its gonna be so sad if New Orleans loses the Saints on top of everything else. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) mac
my favorite memories are: Ohio State beating Texas A&M in 1999 Sugar Bowl, Ohio State getting crushed by Florida State in 1998 Sugar Bowl (don't know why I like that but I was a little kid and Florida State was like the coolest team there was. I thought it was cool that we were playing them.) And then LSU beating Oklahoma for the national championship. I don't like Oklahoma.
amare32
Being in the Chicago area...definitely Super Bowl XX with the Bears over the Patriots 46-10. Same here. I was born in Chicago and my family moved to Arizona before I turned 2. I was 9 years old when the Bears won Superbowl XX.It was the first time a team I supported won a title. I've only seen two other championships since -- the '97 Arizona Wildcats NCAA hoops title and the '01 Arizona Diamondbacks World Series crown. So I cherish the Bears' glorious 46-10 win.My only earlier sports memory is of the '84 Cubs, who collapsed after taking the first 2 games from the Padres in the NLCS.
