With Wells, and Manny asking out of Boston along with the Red Sox probably having to get an entirely new front office the Red Sox might have a down year next year. Apparently money had nothing to do with it. According to Peter Gammons it was the growing disagreement in the front office with other personnel. I wasn't referring to money. I was referring to the power Theo wanted in terms of front office decisions and player personnel. Larry Lucchino wouldn't surrender anything. Why? I have no idea. You'd think a young GM who brought your team a world championship and 3 playoff appearances in 3 years would deserve a few extra perks. Apparently Lucchino disagreed.
