Woo, Starter was the hot plop back then. Now if you wear it around here, you'll get laughed all the way back to the thrift store you found it from.

That's probably because K-Mart has picked up Starter for their stores. At least, the last time I was in there they had Starter stuff. Then again, that was literally 5 years ago.

What other kind of "5 years ago" could there be?

Here's the jacket I own that I was talking about before that is 90's loud:

JACKET.jpg

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

come to think of it, I remember always checkin out the eastbay catalogs (which I still do...heh, that old oxymoron's true-the more things change, the more they stay the same) and for a time they had sweatshirts made to look just like team jerseys. Only one I remember seeing in person was a Deion Sanders one, though I know there were others. shoot, I see reebok's sellin similar hoodies, except they don't look as much like the real jerseys.

you mean something like this?

that was the first jacket I ever owned.

but we are going back to the 80s here, not the 90s

I got the Houston Oilers version of that jacket back when i was in kindergarten back in 91. I still have it hanging in my closet. I wish it would still fit me because i would still be wearing it.

You guys are taking me back to my first job in '94-95 at Champs!. The one that tands out most in my mind weere the Apex "Dart" jackets that had a sunburst type of effect on the back, as well as the logo that Apex designed for the Lions that only appeared on their clothing. I'll never forget that the first thing I did when I got to work the day after Thanksgiving was to get a Troy Aikman doublestar jersey on hold, to buy it after my shift (The first day we could buy them, although they sat in the back room for a week).

"Hats for bats. Keep bats warm. Gracias"

Bulls, White Sox, anything teal, Bulls, Bulls, Bulls, etc... That's all I remember.

Chicago: The epicenter of 90's sports fashion. Although thankfully the Cubs didn't go teal. The only way I can imagine that is if I were to drop Acid, and I ain't doing that again for awhile...

The 1990s:

THROWBACKS!

"Pop-color" jerseys and caps (i.e., red Yankees hats, yellow Twins hats, etc.)

Weird basketball shorts (Villanova, St. John's, Penn, Tulsa, N.C. State, Vanderbilt, George Washington, Georgetown, Cleveland Cavaliers)

Denim (US Soccer, Kentucky basketball, Andre Agassi)

MORE THROWBACKS!

Neon colors (Orlando Thunder, Wolfsburg, Notre Dame men's basketball, anything having to do with skiing or snowboarding)

The 1996 MLS jersey sets (except for DC United).

And least of all, the Wild Wing Jersey as the start of wackiness in "third jerseys."

I miss the teal green Seattle Mariners hat.  I wish I could find that fitted cap somewhere.

Mariners Teal Cap

Thanks, but alas...I wear atleast a 7 and 5/8.

Yeah its too small for me too. If it had been a 7 1/2, i may have ordered it.
