OnWis97 Posted March 17, 2006 Share Posted March 17, 2006 If those figures do indeed feature the new uniforms, I enthusiasticly approve of the change. The all-purple actually looks awesome, the standardization of the road/home striping is a step in the right direction, the logo switch works because the horns were looking a little stale, and the addition of the helmet striping perfectly ties the helmet into the jersey and pants striping. And besides, to those who hate the logo switch, haven't there been several topics in the past about the Eagles doing the same thing?(and let's face it, redoing the helmet will certainly help distance the team from the Randy Moss/party boat era) I generally agree, but the horns just look sooooooooooo out of place on the sleeves. I have always kind of wanted the horns gone. I think their kind of lame and would love the sleeve logo on the helmet. But I think they'll keep the horns, much like the bengals kept their helmets. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." winghaz Posted March 17, 2006 Share Posted March 17, 2006 There are all sorts of rumors, not just in this room but on radio stations here in the Upper Midwest.If there are changes, here are some things that are musts:DO NOT put the Norseman on the helmet or the horns on the sleeves.In fact, DON'T EVEN THINK of removing the horns from the helmets for something else.DO NOT change the hue of the purple or the gold.DO NOT make the Vikings look like a purple and gold version of the Falcons.DO NOT make the Vikings look like a purple and gold verion of the Bills. Of course, some of you actually think the Redskins and Cowboys look good because they are 'traditional'. The Redskins think all those stripes and those gawdy colors will become hip again (even though they haven't been in 20 years) and the Cowboys have 63 different shades of blue and silver.The Falcons look much, much better than they used to. Their old unis were drab and boring. Besides the sleeves, the new unis are pretty basic and clean. Its a very collegiate look (which generally have better uniforms than the NFL does). I would say most people under 30 like the Falcons unis and thats the most important group to appeal to.Now, the Bills unis are a different story. Those things are awful and as soon as the team can make a change, believe me, they will. Whoever OK'd those things must have been drinking. And, no, the throwbacks aren't the answer either. Those things scream 1970, man.The people who are ultri-conservative are not going to like the Vikes change, no matter how it looks. I happen to think a change is needed and will look really good (if they do it like the Eagles did). The Packers used to be blue and the Broncos (I think) used to be yellow. the last wholesale color change? I'd say the Seahawks' change from royal blue, green and silver to gunmetal, navy and lime. Yeah, but that's just a tweak. It's still blue and green. Even though the colors themselves never really changed, I'd say the Pats going from primarily red to primarily blue was pretty drastic.
