Are those hats like all of the other New Era 59Fifty's, and do they have the MLB logo on the back like the others too? If so, ima have to pick me up one of those.

They have the MLB logo on the back and it's just white and navy.

Yep. I found my next hat.

Ya, I know for a fact that those hats are 59/50s. I saw them at the mall last weekend and wondered what the hell they were and then I realized it was a throwback Sox hat. I'm thinking about picking one up too and I really hate the White Sox, although they do have some of the coolest retro apparel.

I've been raked across the coals for suggesting a white crowned cap for teams in Florida... this White Sox one looks great to me... can't see what the problem is (and forget the dirty factor as they can easily get new caps each day if they don't already).

For the umpteenth time, I want to add that it is really odd when one team is in throwbacks and the other team isn't. It bugs the h___ out of me. Like the Cubs couldn't have afforded to wear 1906 unis for one game? They rake people over the coals for Wrigley tix, and they wear their alts for a throwback games.

If you hate the White Sox, DON'T BUY THEIR MERCHANDISE. Just buy a plain white hat and take a Sharpie marker to it, you'll get generally the same effect. It's not even a cool hat. Cubs fans don't wear Sox hats. Think about it.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Why would you do that? I happen to really like the Raiders uniforms but I would never wear it because I'm a Pats fan. It drives me nuts when people wear merchandise of teams they don't support. I personally would feel disloyal if I had other teams stuff on.

Maybe the Cubs declined to wear a jersey that they wore in one of the biggest World Series upsets of all time?

I thought the Sox jerseys looked pretty sharp, especially with that font for the numbers, but I wouldn't be upset if they don't wear those jerseys again this season. It's just not a look that's associated with the White Sox these days.

Also, I must profess to owning a 1983 Sox jersey (Fisk). I wear it to all the games I attend. I think it was the combination of it being popular and the Sox winning a division and setting their all time win mark in that jersey that influenced me to buy it a couple years ago. I still like it, but I'm probably going to get a current jersey in the near future.

I gotta disagree with you there to a point. If I were a Boston Red Sox fan, there is NO WAY that I would ever wear a Yankees cap. I think that you can wear whatever cap or jersey you want, whether it's your favorite team or not. It's all about who or what you like and whatever looks good. The only thing I could say, is that maybe wearing the cap or jersey of your #1 rival team would be weird, but hey it's all up to the person and what they choose so it really doesn't matter in the end who cheers for who and wears what.

No way. I would never, ever, ever, ever, EVER wear an Ohio State t-shirt/hat/jersey despite the fact that I think a lot of their stuff looks nice. I would be pissed if a Buckeye fan wore a Michigan hat, too. Granted, with this rivalry, I don't think it would ever happen. That said, I'd never wear Colts as a Pats fan; Heat, Pacers, or Spurs as a Piston fan; or Avalanche as a Red Wings fan; etc. Rivals are a no-no.

I liked the 2001 White Sox Sunday alts better than these, personally (not that a Cubs fan's opinion counts).

Even though they weren't exactly true to the 1917 look, I liked the modernized cap with the red piping and the Sox logo added. I thought the 1917 jerseys were much better, too.

These are nice, but seem a bit dated for an every Sunday look. The 3/4 button down and the simple C looks a bit plain compared to what they wore in 2001.

And I agree that it would have been nice to see the Cubs in some sort of throwback, but they really don't do that anymore, unfortunately. It sure would beat the Cubs in blue at home.

I loved the 2001 sunday uniforms - got a whole one - pants included (i don't wear them - even though as a high school baseball coach i wear baseball pants almost everyday) but these are to celebrate the 100th anniversary of that World Series. They are alt uniforms, but in my opinion, they should have worn them 06 style - WHITE socks and high knees - also, i hear that they are getting jackets for them as well so they don't have different logos for jackets vs unis - also heard there is talk of making the away 1906 as well.

The cubs should have worn their 1906 uniforms

Also, I have no problem with teams wearing Negro Leagues uniforms. That celebrates something great and inspiring, not segregation.

They're not "celebrating segregation."

They're celebrating elements of a time in baseball, and in our country, that was far from perfect. That doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate the good as well.

Shall we tear down all those WWII memorials, that "celebrate" the forced internment of law-abiding Japanese-Americans?

It's preposterous.

For the first time since the Cubs series, the Sox wore their 1906 throwbacks. I wonder why they have been used so sparingly this season. They're pretty nice.

I think what some of the Sox fans have said in the past is true -- the Sox stick with the jersey they're wearing if they're winning.

Since they were on a four-game skid heading into a Sunday home game, they decided to give the throwbacks another try.

One time they went away from the "winning jersey" method is the first time they wore these against the Cubs. They had won the first two in the series and then lost in the throwbacks, probably adding to their superstitious ways.

At any rate, it was good to see them again, although I still prefer the 2001s posted above. I wonder if they'll wear them again tomorrow, or if MLB would even allow it since they're listed as "Sunday" alts..
