The 2007 MLB All-Star Game program is a winner.

The visual unveiled today will be used as an overall creative treatment setting up all the other San Francisco imagery for the five day event including Fan Fest in 2007.

MLB Design Services will peel apart the mark attached and optimize on merchandise, collateral, signage, broadcast animations and on MLB.com including brand applications such as:

-Primary Wordmark

-Alternate Wordmark

-Secondary and Alternate Secondary Marks

and Isolated Theme Marks (the splashing ball and GG and Bay Bridges to name a few)

Michael Schwab is a nationally renowned desinger who has developed a "West Coast" style to his work so his selection is highly appropriate.

San Francisco, with a wealth of unique iconography will be an outstanding visual landscape for the 2007 game and events around the Bay Area in July of 2007.

Congratulations to MLB on an outstanding package.

Great insight. The "Gameplan" MLB came up w/ is great...welcome back to the site Tom...Good Reading...

It was just unveiled. Thats not the one they showed. Same concept, but without the stadium. I like the one they unveiled much better.

I don't like it. They could have incorporated the city more, like this year's logo. And the ball looks like someone hit it from right field.

"The 0-2 pitch... SWING AND A MISS! STRUCK HIM OUT! THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL!"

Frankly, I think it's fantastic. The splashdown's a little odd-looking with the rest of the motif, but overall I love the look. Not every logo has to be in the same style.

Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop!

The splash is a bit akward, but overall I like the imagery of these.

I agree. It seems too detailed when compared to the rest of the logo. It doesn't help that from some of the photos it looks like it was added last minute.

BTW, patsox#1, classy sig you've got there...

I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?

How can you say it's classy if you can't read what it says?

[edit] lollerskates, he changed it as I was posting it. At least now it's readable, if not without grammatical errors... ^_^

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008
