Chief.
-I believe Tampa said they will never break out the throwbacks (isn't that right?).-I don't know why the Lions didn't use them last year, but this year I don't know what they'll do, I'm sure somebody on here does-Pretty sure Dallas will wear throwbacks again-Denver didn't wear their throwbacks last year and probably won't this year-The only throwback the Chiefs have is their Texans uniform, which might be a little strange with the state of Texas on the helmet.Hope that helps, and if I got anything wrong please correct me. WSU151
-Denver didn't wear their throwbacks last year and probably won't this yearI believe Shanahan is on record saying he never wants to see the royal and orange uniforms ever again. I think his decision came after a loss/close game to Dallas in 2001...something like that. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. KDubK414
That's a shame that those teams won't. I understand their respective philosophies, but for the fans that want to see them it kinda sucks. I'd love to see ORANGE all over the screen this Thanksgiving. Plus, if you think of the players that donned those uniforms for years, it's kind of a slap in the face by the new guy. To say, "your uniform is not worthy enough to have my players wear them." Proc
I don't think the Lions are going to wear the throwbacks this year. All we've heard here is that the black jersey was going to be worn at the home opener and then against the Bears on Christmas Eve. Nothing about the throwbacks for turkey day.FWIW, I love the Lion's throwback. Simple, with the silver number.
TBGKon
Basically what happened is that the NFL discontinued their "Thanksgiving Classics" program and left it up to the team as to if they wore a form of a throwback, since it is considered an alternate jersey. This is why Dallas will wear their throwbacks that day, because their alt uniform is the throwback double-star. The Lions cannot go throwback since their alternate jersey is the black monstrosity.
Shumway
I wouldn't doubt it if the Lions go with the black jersey for Thanksgiving. I don't think they've worn them in a few weeks.THe only time I get to see my team on TV, they hafta wear the worst uniforms ever. Wonderful. Coast2CoastAM2006
Dallas' throwback/alt really is the old throwback with navy instead of royal blue, so even the cowboys aren't wearing a true throwback. So its really an alternate not a throwback. Spoilers!
hecticbro
The Lions can't wear a throwback, because they don't have one registered this season. I don't really like the throwback anyway, it's too plain. I like the Barry Sanders-era Honolulu blues though.

It may have had something to do with the NFL trying to streamline their rules on how many uniforms you can wear. When they had throwbacks on Thanksgiving a team could get away with wearing four uniforms a year-the three the NFL allows (home, road, alt) and a throwback for Thanksgiving. By discontinuing the throwbacks on Thanksgiving, the NFL has made it so that no team can wear more then three uniforms a year. If a team wants to wear a throwback on Thanksgiving, they have to opt to on their own, and only if that throwback is their official alt. roxfan00
Denver should wear these uni's again. "Mr. President, call in the National Guard! Send as many men as you can spare! FiddySicks
Ill put my life savings up that Tampa doesnt wear the throwbacks. I think its a damn shame they discontinued the throwback program on thanksgiving. Thats a big part of why I enjoyed the games so much. I wouldve loved to see Tampa pull out the old bright orange jerseys, wear them once, and then put them right back where they came from. hormone
What is the signifacance of a throwback on Thanksgiving any way? I didn't like it. I don't know why the people like them...especially the Lions. I think their throwback is a bad pee-wee league team uniform. No helmet logs, no trim, nothing special. It doesn't look professional at all. If you wanna throwback to an anniversary or something, that's one thing, but to throwback for the heck of it is silly. Don't change if you want that as your uniform.
TBGKon
If the Bucs were ever to pull out some throwbacks, I'd rather see 'em wear the white unis with red numbers outlined in orange. They're a bit more classy than the creamsicles.
tBBP
Yeah I think that the white top/orange pants creamsicles are the ones that stick in the minds of Buc loyalists the most (along with anyone else who think of "Creamsicle" anyway.)True, the NFL discontinued the Thanksgiving Classic program. (And what the hell would it matter if a team wears threeor four difrferent unis in a season? Have you seen some of the special promotional unis some leagues do?) But even if that werent' the case, old man Glazer HATES those uniforms, and it's because of him that we Buccaneer loyalists will probably never see them on the field of play again. (give my cousin time, though--he's fighting to see if he can get the old man to loosen his stance on those things, because appareantly he and a lot of other people on that team--including those who werent around or in the league then the Bucs were still in those creamsicles--WANT to wear them for a game).Well, I guess there's always NFL Films if I wanna get my creamsicle fix...(provided I'm somewhere that had cable, which my broke ass DON'T at the house...) *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
