Much too lenient. To be honest, he should have been banned for life when his first police problems hit, while he was at West Virginia.

Just to be fair, Ben Roethlisberger would have been banned as well before this year, as would Ray Lewis in 2000.

Bud Adams is talking tough as well...

"Unfortunately this decision does not end our deliberations about this player for our team. We will need assurances from the player on a number of issues before we are comfortable having him return to the team. Until we see a change in behavior through his actions and until he shows the ability to avoid controversy off the field, we will move forward with the possibility that he may not return to this team."

...and you would have fired me because I was pulled over yesterday, despite not getting a ticket, ja?

Just of our curiosity, what exactly is the threshold for banishment under your standards?

Wouldn't half of the Cincinnati Bengals roster from last year been shown the door too?

Of course. I think he was just offering two examples of the 213 NFL players who should be banned for life.

This is a good step for the NFL.

The NFL has recognized that its players are role models, even if the players themselves don't readily acknowledge the fact, and that the players' actions reflect upon the professionalism of the league.

The situation had gotten out of hand. Some may say its not up to an employer to take the role of the judicial system, but it's entirely within their rights to demand that their players maintain a certain level of decorum.

Getting into a gunfight at a strip club probably doesn't fall within the traditional definition of "decorum".

Wow.

So you're saying that over a million dollars lost in money and being suspended for a year is much too lenient, and should've been banned from the NFL before he even stepped foot in the NFL?

Damn. Pacman got what he deserved but Good Lord, that's ridiculous. Then again, you do have a history of making comments that are either really subdued or just crazy like this.

Hooray for Roger. Now lets wait to see what David Stern and Bud Selig try to do to top this!

Also, too lenient for Pacman AND especially for Chris Henry. No I won't use the role models speech here because, frankly I don't think to many people looked up to these two in the first place. I count 10 incidents for Jones and 9 for Chris Henry. These guys are grown men. Is it too much to ask for them to behave? I'm tired of having to read about these two, or anybody who does these kinds of things, in the paper, or hear about them on the news. It is well past time for these two to grow up, strap on a pair and be men, NOT children. They shouldn't be concerned about whether they are playing football or not, they should be concerned about if they make another stupid decision like this, they could be killed, or kill someone else. They ride around on their high horses all the time and think that their :censored: don't stink. Well NEWSFLASH! it DOES. Its about time they got tough on these SOB's
