TruColor
As stated before, nice upgrade on the font itself. But they did a great job sucking out any uniqueness and character from their identity, by making the wordmark white and removing the trees. I guess they also feel their wolf no longer needs a neck, or any means of connecting it to the wordmark to make a cohesive logo. And to reiterate what I said in the other thread, it's inexcusable to eliminate green and still call yourselves the TIMBERwolves.Generic, nondescript...BLAH.A lot you are just assuming that this wolf head and the wordmark are just going to be put together to be the new primary. What makes you feel that way? What we have seen is three separate logo elements leaked - the alternate logo, the wolf head, and the wordmark - and everyone's jumping to conclusions. The Timberwolves have (had) a partial logo up to this point that was a wolf head without the wordmark and trees as well:Yes - we can see the differences between the two. But, there aren't any trees in this one either.I'm thinking that the primary will more than likely incorporate the wolf head and the wordmark a bit more elegantly than we think...but then again...(!) LEWJ
based on what we've seen so far, i put this together:since they might have gone away from the green, maybe the trees will be white (for snow?) or blue or grey, whichever looks gayest to the NBA marketing fools.I didn't realize you had done one, but I put one together too.Yours is better .The way you did it, it works real well because the tree shadows allow the wold head to stay the same shape. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
STL FANATIC
Also, this is expected to be the brand new alternate logo:Thoughts? The jerseys are expected to be unveiled possibly on draft day.Again, I want to reiterate that when Dallas unveiled that logo, there were plenty of us who brought up THIS logo. I don't think any of it is close enough to be upset about it, but as far as I'm concerned, if we're handing the rights to the concept, they already belong to the T-Wolves.I know the colors become similar to that of Dallas, but oh well. Hopefully the T-Wolves don't actually eliminate green. If they do...eh. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT

cityhockeyfever
like so?this way (with a green bball instead of blue), they could be a green-dominant team with marketing/jerseys/etc.Absolutely outstanding. I hope the Timberwolves go with that. And I'm dead serious. I've been waiting for an upgrade to their current logo and uniforms for such a long time. I would've rather them have kept their original scheme instead of what they're wearing right now, that's how much I want a change.I didn't realize you had done one, but I put one together too.Yours is better .The way you did it, it works real well because the tree shadows allow the wold head to stay the same shape.I like the lettering font of "TIMBERWOLVES" in yours than the real thing. Nice job. Looks much better in my opinion.
OnWis97
Lettering: Improvement. Number font, hopefully improvement.new head (with white spot): Minor downgrade.New Alt logo: Tremendous (except no green). Will probably be the primary.Dropping the green: HUGE downgrade. Black blue and silver? Dallas colors? There's nothing wrong with having something bright. They should have added more green at the expense of black.Overall: Downgrade. I'd rather have put up with the current crap for a while longer, if they could be a bit more unique in the future. FiddySicks
White spot or not, that primary forward facing wolf has always been, and will always be absolutely horrible. It gives off too much of a Harry Potter warewolf vibe, where the alt kinda gives off that majestic feeling, at least IMO. ManCalledAmp
I agree that the concept-alt is pure sex; literally took the words out of my mouth. I also love the alt on the cap compared to either ware-wolf version. Neither looks much like a wolf, and the old one never has IMO.I only got into sports around '99, and when I found out the 'Wolves had such a classy original logo and tossed it for the Werewolf-in-the-Trees, I was quite ticked. Seeing the alt on that cap makes me very, very happy...but seeing what this board has put together makes me ecstatic. I have a feeling this is going to be another Buffalo Sabres situation, however--the perfect logo/scheme gets made and put online, then the team ignores the logical right choice to instead choose something far inferior.
