CCSLC Championship Ring Thread

Anyone want to discuss the design of these two rings:

sb17c.jpg

They are from Super Bowl XVII.

The ring on the left is the Washington Redskins first winning Super Bowl Ring from their 1982 season. While no team had more super bowl victories than the 49ers in the 1980s (4 titles), the Redskins were the second most successful team, appearing in four super bowls (one of them was in the 90s) and winning three titles in a span of 10 seasons so get ready to see a few more Redskin championship rings in the upcoming blog series.

The Redskins Super Bowl XVII ring show above, was designed and manufactured by Jostens in 10K solid yellow gold. The ring contains one large diamond and 16 smaller diamonds. The championship ring weighs in at approximately 46 grams.

In my humble opinion, the Redskins design format is very similar to the 49ers ring made one year prior by Balfour. Had I been in charge, I would have designed a unique ring. The Redskins did go with this thinking for their next two Championship rings which were made by Tiffany and Company.

Any thoughts or comments?

Here is an authentic Career "Championship Ring" deigned by Balfour in celebration of his career. The ring was offered with a specially designed championship ring box with a glass top to display the ring and a signed ball with a painted picture of Joe.

anyway want to comment or talk about this? PS - they were designed and limited to only 56 pices.

I love this ring!!!!

Just got back from China and while I easily found counterfeit jerseys, among other products (Beats by Dre. Apple Products, Rosetta Stone, purses, clothing, etc...) I was surprised that I did not see a single fake championship ring for sale.

I did however get a World Cup of Soccer trophy for 100 Yuan... $17

Ohio states newest championship ring

Wow that's a stunning ring. Love the design

Great looking ring - designed very similar to three super bowl rings: Cowboys XXVIII, 49ers, XXIV and the Ravens XLVII.

Would anyone say it is the exact same mold as any of the three I mentioned above? To me, looks slightly different than the Ravens ring.

Wow, they got the rings really cheap:

According to multiple websites:

The rings Ohio State received on Friday were designed by the team, and these are more shiny. The National Championship rings have the Ohio State logo prominently displayed. The Big Ten Championship rings have a Block O imposed over the conference championship trophy.

The three rings are worth a total of $828, according to ESPN. The National Championship ring given by the College Football Playoff cost $415 and has more than 50 cubic zirconias.

The national title ring designed by Ohio State cost $209, within the $375 limit allowed by the NCAA. The Big Ten rings cost $204, within the $325 limit allowed by the NCAA.

Anyone want to talk about the design of the rings from Super Bowl XVIII?

No team in sports made the effort that Al Davis did in keeping his championship rings as close to the same design over the years. This is evident when viewing their first AFL championship ring in 1967, all the way up to their final super bowl appearance in 2002.

Although the Raider championship rings were always very similar in design, the world had never seen a championship ring like this before - three football-shaped diamond configurations on the top of the ring - symbolizing their three Super Bowl victories.

Mine as well.

2010 was almost too cutesy.

2012 had WAY too much white gold

This one? Just about perfect. Still wish they used orange stones on the SF logo, but the balance is nice otherwise. LOVE the three trophies on the side too. A little out there, but in a good way.
