The white on white is growing on me. Paul Lukas at UniWatch linked to some additional pictures at http://washington.rivals.com/photofeature....1&fid=28144 Maybe I have no taste - I like Cal's yellow over blue look too. :P

Great close-ups...especially of the tackle twill numbers. They look different from traditional two-layer twill numbers. I remeber Lukas posting something on the way the Ravens do their twill numbers, with one of the layers just being the outline. Does anybody know if Wahsington, or Nike as a whole, is using a similar technique? Or could the gold outline merely be the stitching on the white twill nubmers?

You beat me to it nice find. Man that looks so much easier to do than layering the numbers. Does someone other than Nike do that like a Stahl's?

The trim color looks a marrowed-edge type of ribbing but done very neatly or double tight column stitching.

It looks like there's a piece of twill there for the outline. Just stitching the outline on like that instead of layering a white number over a larger gold back (serving as the outline) probably saves weight. Whatever Nike does, their numbers sure do look crisp. Other companies' numbers seem to look 'soft' in comparison, and I don't know if anyone's ever noticed, but I've seen adidas numbers that look wrinkly, presumably from the jersey shrinkage.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

Thought I would bump this because the seattle times posted a link to a picture of a style guide for the new uniforms.

Interesting to note that purple pants do look to be the primary away set, although with the reaction the players had I wouldnt doubt that we seem the white pants multiple times.

The World Basketball Championship, the Davis Cup, Ryder Cup, Iraq: Every day there's further proof that we, as a nation, are not very good at international competition.

Forget the purple pants. Forget the white pants. GOLD is all that is needed. Why complicate with inferior looks?

Totally agree, especially now that they have the stripes back on the gold pants.
